Our Product Reliability Engineer (f/m/d) has a strong focus on product-related reliability across the full product lifecycle. In this Position you will be responsible for defining and managing qualification concepts and product-specific reliability requirements, ensuring that application conditions, customer expectations, and industry standards are translated into robust and technically sound qualification strategies.
The role focuses on product performance, failure mechanisms, and lifetime behavior and is closely aligned with R&D, Product Engineering, and Customer Quality. It includes the ownership of qualification plans and the interpretation of reliability results, while ensuring alignment with global test standards and execution capabilities.
About the Position:Definition of global reliability strategies, qualification concepts, and methodologies including test scope, stress conditions, and sample sizes required to demonstrate product reliability
Definition and ownership of product-specific qualification plans based on application requirements, customer expectations, and industry standards such as JEDEC, IEC, and AECQ
Definition of product-specific test requirements and justified deviations based on global test specifications and mission profiles
Evaluation and interpretation of reliability test results in relation to product performance, application conditions, and customer expectations, including structured disposition and risk mitigation approach for qualification failures
Analysis and understanding of failure mechanisms, including degradation behavior, physics-of-failure, and correlation to product design and stress conditions
Development and application of lifetime and acceleration models, including wear-out mechanisms and extrapolation approaches
Definition of reliability concepts, decision logic, and product-specific best practices based on product requirements and global standards
Alignment of qualification requirements with lab capabilities, including feasibility, capacity, cost, and timeline
Close collaboration with Project Management, R&D, Product Engineering, Customer Quality, and Global Quality Labs
Participation in project decision gates and reviews, providing reliability recommendations
Ownership of reliability KPIs at product and program level, including definition, monitoring, and continuous improvement (e.g. qualification robustness, failure rates, lifecycle performance)
Responsibility for robust reliability strategies and programs across the product lifecycle, including new product development, change management, and ongoing reliability monitoring
Consolidation and communication of reliability findings and contribution to continuous improvement
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or Comparable
Minimum of 10 years of experience as Product Reliability Engineer in the high-power semiconductor Industry
Strong experience in semiconductor or electronic component reliability
Deep understanding of semiconductor failure mechanisms, degradation behavior, and reliability testing principles
Strategic and structured working style
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in a high-pressure environment
Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English
