Job Description:
Huntsman Corporation is now looking for a dynamic individual as a Product Regulatory Specialist. Reporting to the Global Product Regulatory Manager, the purpose of this role is to support business growth by ensuring regulatory forward-looking compliance and certification of products in relevant markets (worldwide).
This a position will be based in Mumbai, India.
As a Product Regulatory Specialist, you will:
Monitor, interpret and conduct impact assessments of prioritized existing, new and emerging regulations and standards in global markets, with focus on EAME.
Monitor and inform internal stakeholders on developments in chemical regulations in EAME region.
Advise Huntsman businesses on product compliance with relevant legislation and product certification conforming to applicable standards (e.g. food contact, drinking water, bluesign).
Communicate business implications and recommended actions to internal stakeholders at different levels; identify upcoming regulatory challenges and proactively support business for continued market access of Huntsman products and product innovations.
Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
Support business initiatives and projects aimed at improving regulatory compliance, identify opportunities for digitalization and improvement of processes (Substances of Concern, restricted/banned substances list etc.)
Advise the Product Safety & Regulatory teams to resolve specific questions from customer
What skills and experiences are we looking for?
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, (Life) Science or an equivalent relevant degree in Technical, Science or Engineering.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a product stewardship or regulatory affairs role in the chemical industry is required.
Excellent working knowledge of IT tools (such as MS Excel, power query, databases). · Sound understanding of chemistry.
Understanding of REACH, CLP, chemical control legislations, and products application & markets relevant for Huntsman businesses will be a plus.
An awareness and understanding of chemical processes and products will be a plus.
Fluency in English is essential, additional European languages (German, French,..) will be a plus. Comfortable working with different cultures and through multiple time zones. · Occasional travel as required.
Able to adapt to changes.
Excellent communication skills and customer focus.
Contribute to innovative ideas with a good amount of curiosity.
Self-motivated and able to use initiative.
Have a proactive approach to working, with the ability to identify issues and address them quickly.
