Quality Control Manager
We are looking for a Product Quality Specialist with a strong background in power electronics and proven experience in the design and validation of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS). The product quality specialist plays a pivotal role in collaborating with the R&D department for product design and implementation.
The work model for this role is hybrid. #LI-Hybrid
This role is contributing to the UPS Systems Quality Department in Quartino, Switzerland.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Acting as a quality interface between Agile Teams (R&D & Product Management), Operations, and Suppliers to ensure product robustness before the release (G5).
Analyzing test data, quality KPIs, and field return issues and providing critical feedback during the definition of product requirements, influencing design for quality and reliability.
Managing quality product validation, according to ABB PCP (Product Creation Process) or equivalent methodologies (e.g., APQP), including test planning, design, and execution.
Actively supporting the Design FMEA, Process FMEA, and PPAP activities in cross-functional teams. • • Contribute to improving Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Testing (DFT), with a focus on PCBA production processes.
Master’s or Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering.
Previous experience in product development as well as 5+ years of experience in the Power Electronics industry, preferably in the UPS sector.
Strong expertise in UPS architecture (single-phase and three-phase systems from 10 kW to 2 MW), including both hardware and software.
Hands-on experience with product validation plans, including definition, execution, and analysis of lab test results.
Solid knowledge of FMEA, PPAP, PCP/APQP quality tools and methodologies.
Deep understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes, including the ability to influence design for testing and manufacturability.
Fluent or professional-level English (both spoken and written).
Strong team spirit and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
