The Product Quality Engineer is the quality reference of the plant for its technical scope (product, functional, process). In mass-production, he ensures the industrialization (from quality side) of new parts, analyses defects, contributes to the convergence of quality results in new & in use.
Principle Activities
- Respond with urgency to manufacturing quality issues and collaborate with staff to contain product quality issues.
- Decision authority for deviation requests.
- Coordinates production evaluation runs (PERs) and change notice (CN) implementation for product/process improvements
- Perform CN /PER risk assessments
- Provide plant quality approval for all CN's
- Lead issue tracking process - including plant assigned GIMs, for external customer issues
- Lead and organize all special builds with production and support teams
- Lead and support quality root cause and continuous improvement initiatives through the Kaizen methodology
- Perform, administer or direct rework/repair methods and processes in compliance with engineering standards.
- Support/lead Launch activities pertaining to machining qualifications and launch control plan reviews
- Ensuring the process of supplier ticket (created QO/Reactivity): Guaranteeing the processing of anomalies within the required timeframe, and validating the proposed action plans.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited university (other Engineering degrees, in combination with relevant experience may be considered).
- Well versed in both Microsoft and Google applications.
- Ability to perform data analysis to identify top issues, summarize trends, distinctions, and effectiveness of corrective actions and continuous improvement activities.
- Effective presentation/public speaking skills (comfortable presenting to all levels of the organization).
- Experience with problem solving tools.
- Able to demonstrate both coaching and teaching.
- Self-motivated and directed.
- Ability to thrive in a high intensity environment while working on multiple projects.
- A passion for spending time on the shop floor and fully understanding the build process from a 4M1D standpoint (man, method, machine, material, and design).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal from High Level Meetings down to the Shop Floor
- Rigorous and pragmatic
- Languages: plant language & English
