Position Summary:
The Product Owner will play a critical role in driving the scope, definition and requirements for the product development process for ALLDATA’s products. This person will report to a Senior Product Manager and work with other Product Managers, Scrum Masters, IT, and other cross-functional teams, playing a key role in the Software Development Life Cycle of new products and product improvements in an agile environment. This person will perform discovery, requirements gathering and definition, prioritization, and management of the backlogs. The person in this role acts as the bridge between stakeholders and the development team, responsible for communication of the product roadmap and prioritizing the backlog to ensure every sprint delivers maximum value to ALLDATA customers.
Position Responsibilities - Other duties may be assigned:
- Effectively use marketing data and customer feedback to analyze and understand market needs, determining the roadmap priorities and prioritization of the product backlog.
- Drive the delivery of valuable, usable and feasible solutions.
- Drive Scrum teams to deliver value that will contribute positively to the organization's financial performance.
- Lead and perform all discovery and requirements gathering activities to ensure that the requirements for the product priorities are complete, accurate and ensure that the development team can produce the product value expected.
- Write user stories and prioritize backlog based on product strategy and vision.
- Analyze data (e.g., win/loss, customer feedback, support tickets, etc.) to understand what product enhancements should be prioritized based on what is “urgent, pervasive and someone is willing to pay” in the marketplace.
- Conduct grooming sessions and manage stories through to completion.
- Assist cross-functional groups with product launch activities including but not limited to product demos, product training, product positioning/messaging, and support processes.
- Effectively communicate the product strategy, roadmap, deliverables, performance, etc. to stakeholders and C-level employees within the organization.
- Attend release sessions and provide Go/No-Go decision within the process.
- Participate in the review and/or analysis of customer feedback.
- Participate in all scrum activities/ceremonies.
- Perform Business Analyst responsibilities in absence of an assigned Business Analyst.
- Serve as the product Subject Matter Expert (SME) and effectively support all sales and product launch activities. Measure product performance for the company by tracking and reporting to KPIs that are meaningful to the financial health of the company.
- Consistently produce high-quality deliverables in a timely manner, self-assigning dates/times for delivery and meeting delivery due dates.
- Create comprehensive, clear, and accurate documentation.
- Communicate proactively, clearly and completely with team members, cross-functional teams, strategic partners and all levels of leadership to provide product delivery requirements, delivery statuses, impediments, product roadmap information and/or product performance data.
Position Requirements:
- A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in Product Management or Product Development as a Business Analyst or a Product Owner
- 2+ years of managing cross-functional teams
- Professional experience analyzing data and gathering insights
- Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs and data into requirements
- Professional Agile experience, including story writing and backlog prioritization/management
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
The salary range for this position is $96,000 – $165,000.
