Job Description:
This is a Product Owner role in IT that will lead and oversee the development team for the Universal Rates Engine (URE). The team creates a rates structure that allows internal and external applications to provide the rates (or cost of) Old Republic Title’s policies. The person in this role will work closely with legal as well as developers of the URE.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
With general direction, responsible to:
Act as final decision maker in the agile development process on priority, business value, and functionality for all work to be completed by the Agile team after consulting with legal and business users.
Have an in-depth knowledge of goals and desired project objectives.
Communicate clearly with all stakeholders and leaders on project vision, sprint status, backlog, and standards for the project.
Lead or participate in all stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning sessions and project planning.
Steer the project, remain available, terminate a sprint if required, and provide encouragement, recognition and support to the project team.
EXPERTISE:
Competent to work in all phases of the agile development process; possesses educational background or experience to fulfill these duties.
Has highly-skilled documentation, communication and relationship management abilities within the Agile discipline.
Ability to interpret complex legal language into requirements for development staff.
Thorough and concise ability to test the outcomes of programming by the development team.
EXPERIENCE:
Typically has 5-7 or more years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have experience with rates from an insurance industry, preferably with Title Insurance.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Proficient in Microsoft 365, Visio, Smartsheet, Azure DevOps, OneNote, Microsoft Teams, SQL. Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science, information systems, or related fields; or equivalent work experience.
Communication and Interpersonal skills:
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
At a minimum, the ability to work from 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m., Monday through Friday.
Consistent attendance is required, which may include attendance at after-hour Company events.
Ability to accept supervision.
Ability to foster, develop and maintain professional and collaborative working relationships.
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management, employees and customers by email, phone, video conferences and in person.
Must be a personable, positive, and professional representative of the company.
Ability to work overtime as requested and approved by supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

The estimated pay range stated represents the typical pay range for this position or similarly employed employees or employees performing substantially similar work. Factors which may be used to determine the actual pay rate may include, but are not limited to, education, training or experience; seniority; merit and work performance; quantity or quality of production; regional differences in compensation; differences in local minimum wages, or ability and effort.
Position's Pay Range:
$110,000.00 - $130,000.00/annuallyBenefits may include:
