The Role

This is a hybrid and full time role in Ottawa, ON Canada. Alternate location includes Plantation, Florida US.
Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead the development and management of our next generation of Hardware Security Module (HSM) products. As a Product Owner, you will play a critical role in shaping the product design, driving execution, and ensuring that our HSM solutions meet the evolving security needs of enterprise customers. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the customers to understand their problems and find innovative solutions for the broader market. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, marketing, and customer support, to ensure the delivery of high-quality products that address both current and future market demands. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers.

Schedule: Core Business Hours Monday-Friday

Travel: requires domestic and international travel to meet customers and partners. 10% of the time.

Key Areas of Responsibility 

•    Work closely with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to gather feedback, understand pain points, and identify new opportunities for the HSM product line.
•    Develop and maintain a detailed product roadmap, ensuring alignment with both short-term tactical goals and long-term strategic objectives.
•    Prioritize product features and improvements, balancing customer demands, security improvements, technical debt, and market opportunities.
•    Collaborate with engineering teams to translate product requirements into user stories, technical specifications, and prioritized backlogs.
•    Partner with QA teams to define testing criteria and ensure the delivery of a high-quality product that meets both functional and security requirements.
•    Manage product backlogs, define user stories, and participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
•    Ensure that the HSM product line adheres to the highest security standards, including compliance with relevant regulations and certifications (e.g., FIPS 140-3, Common Criteria, PCI HSM, etc.).
Basic Qualifications

•    Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in the technology or cybersecurity industry.
•    At least 3 years of hands-on experience working with Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), cryptographic systems, or other security hardware products.
•    Proven track record of successfully delivering complex products from ideation to launch, particularly in the security or enterprise technology space.
Technical Expertise: 
•    Solid understanding of cryptography, encryption standards, key management systems, and security protocols.
•    Familiarity with HSMs, key storage solutions, public key infrastructure (PKI), and post quantum cryptography.
•    Knowledge of product development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.
•    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
