Description:

SPS Commerce is a leading provider of cloud-based supply chain management solutions, serving a global network of retail trading partners. Join SPS Commerce and be part of a dynamic team that's transforming the global retail supply chain!

Position Summary:We're looking for a Product Owner to own delivery of our Relationship Center and Testing & Certification products. The Product Owner takes the vision and roadmap priority set by the Product Manager, works with stakeholders to build out the product requirements, and partners with design and engineering to bring it to life — driving that work independently from requirements through delivery. Success is measured by adoption and engagement with the feature across retailers and suppliers, delivery predictability, the quality of requirements handed to engineering, and this person's ability to help collaborate with a balanced, predictable engineering team while acting as a credible technical thought partner to developers.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter and critical thinker who is comfortable pressure-testing their own logic before it reaches engineering, asking hard technical questions, and holding their ground in a technical conversation. They are an expert in the customer's business problems — not just the product itself — with a curious mind that keeps asking questions until they've gotten to the root of the customer's issue. They can manage through ambiguity while still executing against the roadmap, adjusting course without losing momentum. They will own, prioritize, and groom the product backlog — consulting with product managers, prospects, customers, and other stakeholders — and will collaborate daily with software engineering and UX to oversee and approve product designs, enhancements, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with product manager(s) to understand the market and the customers you are serving, and convey that vision to engineering and other stakeholders.

  • Spend time directly with customers in order to advocate for customer needs and represent voice of customer (VOC) with the engineering team.

  • Leverage market understanding to better inform day-to-day trade-offs of features and timing.

  • Create detailed product requirements to articulate customer need to engineering, consulting with product management, prospects, customers, and other stakeholders.

  • Respond to questions from developers and clarify requirements related to voice of customer (VOC) and business requirements.

  • Participate in scrum ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, demos, grooming, and release planning.

  • Iterate product designs in collaboration with UX and engineering.

  • Write acceptance criteria as part of user story creation.

  • Flex across multiple product lines, representing the needs of multiple user personas.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in an agile development environment.

  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

  • Working knowledge of APIs and how they support data integration and product functionality.

Location:

This role follows a hybrid work model for candidates based in Minneapolis, with regular in-office presence required at our Minneapolis office. Candidates based elsewhere in the U.S. may work 100% remotely.
