Invent Consulting Limited is seeking an experienced Product Owner to join our consulting team. The successful candidate will be deployed to support the delivery and management of an innovative digital product for one of our clients.
The Product Owner will act as the voice of the customer and key business stakeholders, bridging business needs and technology solutions while ensuring the delivery team focuses on high-value product outcomes.
- Define and communicate the product vision, goals and roadmap in alignment with business priorities.
- Gather, analyse and prioritise customer, user and stakeholder requirements.
- Create, maintain and prioritise the product backlog.
- Develop clear user stories, acceptance criteria and functional requirements and ensure backlog items are ready for development.
- Work closely with cross-functional Agile teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and development teams.
- Facilitate requirements-gathering workshops, product reviews and stakeholder discussions.
- Clarify requirements and provide ongoing guidance to development teams.
- Review and accept or reject completed work against agreed acceptance criteria.
- Monitor product performance using KPIs, customer feedback and other relevant data.
- Identify opportunities for product enhancements, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Manage product risks, dependencies and stakeholder expectations proactively.
- Support product launches and ensure solutions deliver measurable business and customer value.
- Ensure products comply with relevant organisational, regulatory and security requirements.
RequirementsQualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, Business Analysis or Agile project delivery.
- Demonstrated experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with product backlog management, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Experience with backlog management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps or Trello.
- Experience delivering digital products within banking, financial services, fintech, telecommunications or technology sectors is highly desirable.
- Experience with product performance monitoring, KPI analysis and customer feedback is an advantage.
- CSPO, PSPO or equivalent Agile certification is an added advantage.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience engaging senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Customer-centric mindset with a focus on delivering business value.
- Strong prioritisation and decision-making skills.
- Strong planning, organisation and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with developers, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, UX/UI Designers, QA/Test Engineers and business stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholder expectations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, or similar product management role.
- Demonstrated experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Experience delivering digital products within banking, financial services, fintech, or technology sectors.
- Certification such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), or equivalent Agile certification.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- Customer-centric mindset with a focus on delivering business value.
- Ability to prioritize competing requirements and make informed decisions.
- Strong planning, organization, and collaboration skills.
