Department OverviewMotorola Solutions’ Command Center Software portfolio thrives within the overall Motorola Solutions product ecosystem, and is also enhanced by 3rd party systems our customers use on a daily basis. The Alliances and Ecosystem team is responsible for evaluation and establishment of 3rd party technology partner relationships, alignment of appropriate stakeholders, and establishment of appropriate governance based on established differentiation to ensure ongoing profitability for the Command Center Software business.
Job Description
Motorola Solutions Command Center products help public safety agencies improve response times, efficiently allocate resources and better inform first responders through better information gathering and situational awareness. This product owner position will be responsible for overseeing Public Safety Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) Software Integrations from start to finish to ensure that they fulfill both their functionality and supportability requirements.
The product owner is responsible for the ownership and managing of the backlog for their assigned value stream(s), contributes to the product roadmap, understands customer and market needs for Public Safety CAD Software. The product owner relies on their technical knowledge and background to define user stories and acceptance criteria, engage with assigned Engineering teams, and groom the backlog. The ability to deeply understand technical architecture, define engineering behind features, and to translate high-level customer functional requirements into technical for development is a crucial skill. In addition, the ability to describe the impact of technical requirements to customers, non- technical sales, and support resources is a must.
In this role, the product owner champions the need of the user, customer, and other stakeholders throughout the development process to ensure that what is delivered meets the goals, objectives, and desired outcomes of the project. To be successful, one must manage multiple projects simultaneously, at various stages of their development, from idea to completed feature.
Responsibilities

Work closely with product management to understand suite-level initiatives and features. Involved in release planning, reviewing vision, and content presentations to assigned engineering team(s)

Feature Definition

Defines the features and requirements necessary to deliver a complete product to market and lead the product team to success.

Articulating the ‘what’ and working with development to determine the ‘when.’

Fill the role of Product Owner for the assigned Scrum team
-
Involved in release planning, reviewing vision, and content presentations to assigned engineering team(s)

Collaborate with the team to detail user stories with acceptance criteria
-
Maintain the proper flow of features, user stories, and acceptance criteria in the backlog
-
Ensure backlog and goals for each team are maintained and current
-
Own backlog prioritization for assigned scrum teams
-
Agree on accepted story completion, including validating that the story meets acceptance criteria and that it complies with the Definition of Done (DoD)

Understand the scope of needed research spikes and collaborate with Engineering to assist with decision- making and sequencing of the critical technological infrastructures

Collaborate with the team and any other stakeholders in the team demo

Participate in the appropriate agile ceremonies

Create customer-facing documentation
Requirements

Agile/Scrum experience
-
Firm understanding of software design, user interaction, and user interface design

Deep technical knowledge in software development methodologies

Experience utilizing product and project management tools such as Aha!, Jira, and DevOps

Technical knowledge of Motorola Solutions' PremierOne and/or Flex Suite(s) is a plus
-
Experience in Law Enforcement / Public Safety is a plus

Align with the enhanced focus on prioritizing and developing important aspects of mission critical products, such as availability, reliability, and stability

Excellent communication skills in English and Portuguese, both verbal and written are a necessity

Polished presentation skills for internal and external audiences
