We are looking to hire Product Owner for Global Finance applications in Bangalore.

The Product Owner will be responsible for leading the delivery and strategic initiatives to optimize the performance and efficiency of the IT systems and infrastructure in the Global Finance area.  This individual will own responsibility for building and maintaining strong relationships with business partners, and functional teams. 

The individual should bring technical proficiency, Analytical skills, High level Understanding of: Finance process, Vendor Management, IT Security Management and Application life cycle management. The Individual should exhibit the ability to learn on the Job. 

Provide active management and oversight of critical IT project deliverables with minimum support and maintain a high level of business centricity applying effective IT service management model.

Closely works with other business and IT leaders to ensure cohesive execution of stated objectives and strategy.

The position will require supervisory experience and the capability to work with highly effective teams in both direct and matrix management support models.

Technical skills

  • Bachelor’s/ master’s degree in any stream along with professional certifications such as  CA CWA or CMA or MBA. MBA in Finance preferred.

  • ·Overall 10+ years of experience in IT of which 3+ years of experience working on IT Application Maintenance, Service Delivery, and IT Platform Management

  • Finance process knowledge and Technology expertise on Finance function in ERP (SAP or other ERPs) and non-ERP preferred.

  • Assist delivery of all agreed IT-related projects for the Finance area, from Feasibility phase to completion

    • In the Ideas phase, provide support to Business in driving clarity of business requirements, high level design, cost and time estimates to facilitate the production of high-quality charters

    • Assist/Lead during Feasibility and Capability phases for the translation of business requirements into a functional specification and specific work packages for call-off from service design and service introduction functions

    • Work in close partnership with the Solution Delivery Managers to ensure on-time and on-budget execution of application changes for all key projects and programs

    • Work with Lead to ensure that the Project Delivery Process is adhered to

  • Help ensure Technical and Security standards as defined in Controls framework are implemented and adhered to during design and implementation

  • Help ensure solution resilience and provide functional expertise on both technical and functional fixes/changes.

  • Manage the BAU support for the projects delivered in Finance space

  • Manage escalations for complex incidents, issues to achieve target uptime levels

  • Act as a gatekeeper for resilience

  • Ensure governance over AM vendor team and ensure SLAs are met

  • He/she needs to provide full governance on the AM vendor working for the tool.

  • Needs to work closely with global release and change management teams to ensure global processes are followed

  • Responsible for putting root-cause analysis together for critical incidents for own area with vendor resources and AM teams.

  • Sign off and follow progress, deal with issues, manage escalations and ensure visibility to the lead in timely manner ensuring the service delivery as per agreed KPI.

  • Front end all critical IT communications to Geo IT and Business such as communications during P1 or other service disruptions, specific announcements about major upgrades/maintenance activities and Executive root cause summary (for P1)

  • Deliver above responsibilities within an agreed financial charging structure and budget

  • Stakeholder Engagement - Co-ordinate the delivery with Team leads, Developers, Regression testing team, other platform release teams, Business Ops and business teams

Personal skills

  • Supplier management to ensure that team is equipped with the right set of resources required to run the platform

  • Budget management for various IT practices and innovations within Platform management like automated testing, dev-ops practices etc. to make the operations more robust

  • Output of this practice should be a resilient and future ready platform for onboarding new applications and markets

  • Establish and govern, fit-to-purpose Service Delivery practices to ensure the following

    • Application life cycle management – starting from Service Introduction (inclusive of process like criticality, IT security assessment etc) to creating a service model, establishing service acceptance criteria, keeping the application status updated in CMDB and decommissioning of the service.

    • Governance around onboarding new features and markets to an application. This would include practices like Service rehearsal, operational acceptance, periodic governance etc.

    • Governance to ensure all the platform services are free from any potential vulnerability. Any such vulnerabilities should be tracker, reviewed and mitigated in a timely manner

    • Governance to ensure any service downtimes etc. for activities like upgrades and other maintenance windows are planned and the required downtime windows are aligned with required stakeholders

    • Act as a single point of contact between the various IT platforms and business users to ensure that anything needed to run the service is well managed and the users are informed about any such impact on service availability in a timely manner.
