About your team

As a business, we are constantly evolving how we work to stay ahead of what our clients need and to deliver on our strategic ambitions. FIL Platforms represents the next step in that journey – bringing together Asset Management Delivery, Enterprise Technology Services and change teams from across the business into a single integrated structure designed for clarity, speed and impact.

Asset Management Platforms is responsible for the design and delivery of business process and technology solutions that support the growth and evolution of Fidelity's Asset Management business. We partner with Investment Management, Asset Management Operations and Distribution teams across Hong Kong, London, Tokyo, Singapore, Australia, China and Toronto.

This role sits within the Core Value Stream - Equity and Fixed Income, supporting strategic initiatives that enhance portfolio construction, investment decision-making, analytics, order generation, execution management and investment risk capabilities across Fidelity's global investment platform.

This role will work closely with Portfolio Managers, Investment Directors, Quantitative Researchers and Investment Specialists to shape, prioritise and deliver technology capabilities that improve investment outcomes and operational efficiency.

About your role
The Product Owner is the voice of the business within the Squad and is accountable for ensuring that the team delivers the highest-value outcomes for Fidelity's Equity investment business. The role sits at the intersection of investment management, product ownership and technology delivery, translating strategic objectives and business needs into a prioritised backlog that enables squads to deliver measurable value.

Unlike a generic Product Owner role, this position requires significant domain expertise in Equity investing and front-office investment management processes. The successful candidate will be expected to understand how portfolio managers construct portfolios, manage risk, monitor performance and implement investment decisions across multiple asset classes.

The Product Owner will partner with business stakeholders, architects, engineers and business architecture teams to ensure solutions align with Fidelity's strategic target state while addressing real investment management challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Delivery

  • Own and maintain the squad backlog, ensuring it remains prioritised, refined and aligned to strategic objectives.
  • Translate Value Stream and ART-level epics into well-defined user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Make active prioritisation decisions, balancing business value, technical dependencies, risk and capacity constraints.
  • Participate in Quarterly Planning and other Agile planning events to ensure commitments are realistic and understood.
  • Accept or reject completed work against agreed acceptance criteria and business outcomes.
  • Work closely with Scrum Masters and engineering teams to maximise squad effectiveness.

Equity Business Engagement

  • Act as the primary interface between the squad and stakeholders across Fidelity's global Equity investment business.
  • Build strong relationships with Portfolio Managers, Investment Directors, Risk teams and Asset Management Operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve investment processes, decision-making workflows and operational efficiency.
  • Gather, challenge and refine requirements to ensure solutions address underlying business needs rather than current-state processes.
  • Drive adoption of new capabilities through stakeholder engagement, communication and training.

Investment Platform Transformation

  • Support strategic initiatives across portfolio construction, investment analytics, portfolio monitoring, order generation, execution workflows and investment risk management.
  • Collaborate with architects and business architecture teams to ensure solutions align with Fidelity's target operating model and technology strategy.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable front-office platforms supporting global investment teams.
  • Support delivery of both tactical enhancements and long-term strategic transformation programmes.

Analysis & Change Leadership

  • Produce high-quality requirements, process maps, user stories and business analysis artefacts where required.
  • Lead workshops and discovery sessions with business stakeholders.
  • Prepare presentations, business cases and updates for senior leadership.
  • Support project governance, delivery reporting and value tracking.
  • Champion continuous improvement across business processes and technology platforms.
