The Role
What you will do. A glimpse in your role:

You will manage Global Blue’s Customs Approval System (CAS), a technology platform that enables customs authorities to validate tax-free exports for international travelers in a fully digital manner.

The product is used by more than 10 customs authorities across Europe, Asia, and South America and processes millions of transactions annually.

You will continuously collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design and deliver new product features — from ideation to implementation. You will enhance existing capabilities and identify new opportunities based on market insights and customer interactions.

You bring a strong blend of business and technical expertise, with a clear understanding of the broader product vision and the ability to execute strategy in close collaboration with the Product Manager, Business Units, and Engineering teams.

You will:

  • Define product requirements and specifications

  • Set priorities and timelines

  • Ensure successful implementation and delivery

  • Represent the business perspective within a dedicated SCRUM team

  • Drive product value through structured backlog management

  • Define product requirements based on input from Commercial/Business Units and Technology strategy

  • Own, prioritize, and maintain the Product Backlog in close collaboration with Business Units and Engineering

  • Manage cross-team dependencies, negotiating scope and priorities when needed

  • Translate business features into detailed user stories and clear technical requirements

  • Support the SCRUM team throughout sprint cycles

  • Actively gather the Voice of the Customer and drive product improvements based on real market needs

  • Define and maintain the Product Roadmap, including go-to-market alignment with the Product Manager

  • Promote the product internally and externally to customers and partners

  • Define, track, and optimize KPIs while managing total cost of ownership (TCO) across development and operations

Reporting and collaboration
  • Report directly to the Group Product Manager

  • Work closely with Engineering on a daily basis

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Business Units, Project Management Office, and Commercial teams

Key competencies to empower your journey. You'll drive towards success if:
  • 2–3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, or in a similar role

  • Strong knowledge of requirements engineering standards (user stories, use cases, UML, etc.)

  • Experience working with distributed teams in a global, multicultural environment

  • Broad understanding of infrastructure and application technologies (SOA, web services, application development, etc.)

  • Good understanding of AI technologies and their application in product innovation

  • Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken)

  • Solid understanding of Agile (SCRUM) methodologies

  • Strong project management capabilities

Qualifications and education requirements
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent relevant professional experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with business and IT stakeholders

  • Strong strategic thinking capability

  • Problem-solving mindset with a positive “can-do” attitude

  • Independent, self-motivated personality

  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong customer orientation with a passion for improving processes, products, and user experience

  • Proven ability to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into structured documentation and conceptual designs

  • Ability to quickly learn new systems, applications, and processes

  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to drive consensus across teams

  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines

  • Positive attitude with a solutions-oriented mindset

  • Ability to operate effectively in a multicultural, multinational environment and mobilize cross-functional teams

  • Experience with Atlassian products and Splunk is a plus
