Our purpose: We accelerate partners’ success through innovative financial technology solutions and inspired service.

The Opportunity

The Product Owner role is accountable for maximizing the value delivered by the agile development team. This role is technical and centers on defining a compelling product vision, translating business objectives into actionable epics, features, and user stories, and prioritizing the product backlog to align with key business goals and ROI.

This is an expert level role that works closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders—serving as a bridge to ensure clear communication and shared understanding. Through ongoing backlog refinement, stakeholder engagement, and transparent prioritization, the Product Owner empowers the team to deliver high-quality, business-focused solutions that meet end-user needs.

A Day in the Life

  • Work in a fast-paced agile/scrum environment in which the role, with assistance, would:
    • Define a clear product vision for the Agile team, refine well-defined epics and features with stakeholders.
    • Understand MVP needs by assigning business value at the epic and feature level. Translate the “What” of the epics and features into stories defining the “How” for successful completion. If required, creation of repeatable Epics and Features may exist for BAU work
  • Advanced ability in prioritizing, ordering, and managing one or more product backlogs in a way that is transparent, visible and maximizes business value and ROI.
  • Work with other Product Owners to align and prioritize backlogs to align with project delivery goals.
  • Define product and business requirements and, in collaboration with the Analyst, document user stories and acceptance criteria for the Agile Team; continuously refine, prioritize, and validate requirements to drive high-quality product delivery.
  • Lead discussions and decisions with the Agile team to assess how products and their features impact revenue, expenses, profit, cash flow, valuation, and ROI.
  • Independently, develop a Delivery Plan that identifies work by technical domain, work dependencies, and schedule, ensuring stakeholders are aligned with the overall plan.
  • Partner with Technical Leads and Architecture to confirm that technical aspects of epics and features—along with the roadmap—are prioritized to optimize the team’s value and efficiency.
  • Independently facilitate and showcase the product vision and capabilities to external clients or vendor partners.
  • Presentation of status updates, financial insights, and long-term product plans that are closely aligned with the organization’s objectives and strategic roadmap.
  • Effectively communicates complex concepts in a clear and succinct way, using process flow diagrams and data-driven information to ensure understanding across both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Assist, as needed, in other team roles such as Scrum Master, Business Systems Analyst, or QA Analyst.
  • Ability to independently translate multi-year product plans concisely for executive management, aligning them with organizational goals; communicate clearly to technical and non-technical audiences using process flow diagrams and data-centric information.
  • Proactive action to resolve impediments, anticipate and manage risk, and identify the right business partners to inform product direction decisions, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Champion change and help the team pivot in response to evolving organizational priorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, related technology field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of professional work experience in a combination of technical roles and product owner required or combination of equivalent educational experience.
