PIMCO Sales Technology builds the products our global sales organization relies on every day. We're looking for a product leader to own our RFP and DDQ platform — the system that lets PIMCO respond to Requests for Proposal and Due Diligence Questionnaires with speed, accuracy, and consistency.
RFPs and DDQs are high-stakes, deadline-driven, and content-heavy: the quality and turnaround of our responses directly affect PIMCO's ability to win and retain mandates. We deliver this capability through a third-party platform (Responsiv) rather than building it in-house, which makes this a product-through-a-vendor role — you'll direct and manage delivery, not build it.
This role offers a unique opportunity to drive meaningful impact across both external partnerships and internal transformation. Success requires strong vendor leadership, influencing product priorities, aligning roadmaps to business needs, and ensuring key capabilities are delivered effectively and on schedule. At the same time, you'll play a central role in evolving the team's operating model, helping to shape new workflows, modernize content management practices, and thoughtfully integrate automation to improve scale and efficiency. This is an ideal opportunity for a leader who enjoys building alignment, driving change, and delivering measurable business outcomes.
There's also a clear AI opportunity: RFP/DDQ response generation is one of the strongest use cases for GenAI — content libraries, drafting, answer reuse, and consistency checking. You'll push the product, and the vendor, toward AI-native answer generation while keeping humans accountable for accuracy and compliance.
What you'll do
- Own the Responsiv relationship day-to-day — roadmap alignment, feature prioritization, delivery tracking, and escalation. Be the single point of accountability for what the platform does and doesn't deliver, regardless of the fact that a vendor builds it.
- Translate PIMCO's needs into committed roadmap — turn our priorities into clear requirements, get them onto the vendor's roadmap, and hold the vendor accountable to timelines and quality, in partnership with vendor management and procurement.
- Lead the internal team through the change — new workflows, content model, and roles. Build the enablement around the rollout (training, documentation, process redesign) and manage the human side: surface resistance early, keep the team bought in, and make the new way of working demonstrably better than the old.
- Own the RFP/DDQ product vision and roadmap within PIMCO — what we ask the vendor for and why — prioritized against the outcomes that matter: response turnaround, accuracy and consistency, and content reuse.
- Partner with the sales, RFP, and compliance teams as the primary customers of the product.
- Champion AI-assisted response generation as a first-class capability, with appropriate human-in-the-loop review for a regulated environment.
What we're looking for
- 7+ years in product management or a product-owner role within asset or wealth management, including direct ownership of a vendor-delivered or SaaS platform.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated success managing a demanding external vendor — shaping their roadmap, holding them to delivery, and escalating constructively.
- A strong change-management track record: you've led a team through the adoption of a new system or process, including training, enablement, and managing resistance.
- Excellent stakeholder management across business and technical audiences; comfortable being the single throat to choke for a product you don't build yourself.
- Fluency in AI-native product thinking — able to push a vendor toward GenAI-assisted workflows and define where human review is required.
Nice to have
- Direct experience with RFP/DDQ, proposal-management, or content-automation platforms (Responsiv, Loopio, Qvidian/Upland, RFPIO/Responsive, or similar)
- Financial services, investment management, or asset management domain experience, and familiarity with the RFP/DDQ/consulta
Salary Range: $ 150,000.00 - $ 225,000.00
