Minderoo's Finance, Technology and Operations area proactively partners across the organisation to streamline systems, tools and processes to support day-to-day operations. Ensures the Foundation meets its financial, operational, legal, risk and compliance obligations. Functions include financial control, procurement, grant management, tax, financial planning and analysis, investments, legal, risk and compliance, company secretary and technology.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Director, Technology. As Product Owner, Core Systems you will partner across the Foundation, and collaboratively design, develop, implement and improve core business systems and processes to facilitate solutions that increase the impact of Minderoo’s objectives.

The primary focus of the role will include (but not limited to):

• Planning development activity, requirements prioritisation and UAT coordination/execution.
• Work with stakeholders to gather, define and translate business requests into high quality technical requirements, functional specifications with technical solutions. Acceptance criteria for the development of new systems or enhancements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across Minderoo Foundation, including identifying system integration opportunities, process efficiencies, and where automation/AI could streamline our operations
• Work closely with Systems & Cloud Architects, Cyber Security and App Support teams to support and promote best practice in all aspects of system design and delivery
• Build and maintain effective relationships across Minderoo, fostering collaboration through our matrix-model approach.
• Provide guidance and support to system users when required.

Qualifications

About You

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who is adaptable and driven to solve problems. You will have a collaborative approach, and are comfortable engaging with business stakeholders and translating business needs into clear requirements.

• Proven and successful expertise as a Product Owner or similar technical role, including previous leadership responsibilities.
• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a blend of project management and business analysis experience, particularly in a matrix environment.
• Demonstrable experience showcasing your understanding of applications architecture for complex and fast-paced organisations. Coupled with the ability to contribute to developing architectures for ‘right-size’ solutions whilst ensuring stability, scalability and supportability.
• Demonstrated experience implementing and/or supporting business tools such as Microsoft Dynamics and Microsoft Power BI.
• Knowledge and understanding of A2A and B2B integration concepts, considerations and patterns.
• Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies including SCRUM and Waterfall.
• Solid understanding of system development life cycle (SDLC) principles and experience in all phases of the SDLC. 
• Proven experience in influencing, managing, and building alignment between a range of cross functional stakeholders.
• Passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
• Bachelor’s degree in business information systems (IS), project management or related field, or equivalent-related experience.
