Role Overview

The Product Owner for Content Management & Communication Tools is responsible for enabling clear, execution‑ready delivery across Jonas’s online platforms and member communication ecosystem. This role oversees the evolution of our web content management platforms, as well as the shared suite of communication tools including Email Marketing, Text Messaging, Campaigns, and Notifications.

A key competency of this role will be to embrace our AI‑Driven Development Lifecycle (AI‑DLC) to transform how we build software. This concept combines human expertise with AI to accelerate discovery, design, and delivery. Product Managers and Product Owners play a central role by using AI tools to rapidly develop insights, shape requirements, then collaborate closely with Engineering to bring innovative solutions to market with greater speed and precision.

This role plays a critical part in the assessment and alignment of our online technology stacks, ensuring that content and communication capabilities evolve in a way that is scalable, client‑centric, and aligned to long‑term platform strategy. The Product Owner ensures delivery teams have precise requirements, clear priorities, and shared understanding while balancing modernization efforts with the operational realities of client‑facing, high‑visibility web products.

Salary for this role is between $80,000-$90,000 a year.

Job Responsibilities:

Backlog Ownership & Delivery Clarity

  • Own and maintain the backlog for content management and communication capabilities across web properties
  • Translate platform priorities into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Break down initiatives spanning CMS functionality, campaign tools, messaging workflows, and cross‑platform user experience
  • Ensure backlog items reflect differences between existing CMS while supporting convergence where appropriate
  • Maintain delivery readiness to support predictable sprint planning for multiple web‑focused teams

Workflow & Requirements Integrity

  • Translate business, marketing, and client needs into detailed requirements for CMS and communications tooling
  • Ensure content authoring, publishing, and campaign workflows reflect real‑world club usage and staffing models
  • Identify edge cases related to branding, permissions, automation, scheduling, and audience targeting
  • Support requirements for shared services across web, mobile, and member engagement touchpoints
  • Clearly document platform differences, overlaps, and constraints uncovered during tech stack assessment

Delivery Coordination & Team Enablement

  • Serve as the primary product contact for delivery teams working on CMS and communication tools
  • Clarify requirements, acceptance criteria, and expected outcomes throughout development
  • Proactively remove delivery blockers caused by ambiguous platform boundaries or tooling overlap
  • Communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs clearly to Product Management and cross‑functional stakeholders
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Marketing, and Client Experience teams to ensure alignment

Release Readiness & Adoption Support

  • Validate delivered functionality against acceptance criteria and real client workflows
  • Ensure documentation inputs, release notes, and internal enablement materials are complete and accurate
  • Support internal readiness for Support, Services, and Marketing teams ahead of releases
  • Monitor post‑release feedback and issues across content and communication features
  • Coordinate follow‑up work to improve adoption, usability, and reliability for client‑facing tools

Platform Alignment & Ecosystem Evolution

  • Support ongoing assessment and alignment of the existing CMS platforms
  • Contribute delivery clarity and requirement definition during CMS standardization and decision processes
  • Help guide convergence where it improves scalability, speed of delivery, and client experience, while respecting brand and client differences
  • Enable a more consistent, integrated member experience across websites, mobile apps, and communications tooling

Required Experience & Capabilities

  • 2–6+ years of experience as a Product Owner or similar delivery‑focused role
  • Experience working with web platforms, content management systems, or digital marketing tools
  • Strong ability to define requirements for user‑facing, workflow‑driven products
  • Comfort operating in environments with multiple platforms and overlapping capabilities
  • Proven ability to partner with engineering, marketing, and operational teams
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to workflow detail
