The Product Owner – Business Systems (Seaware) is responsible for maximizing the value delivered by the Business Systems Solutions and Product Delivery teams by owning product vision, priorities, and backlog clarity. This role ensures the right work is delivered at the right time by aligning business needs, Sailor experience, and operational outcomes with system capabilities.

As a key partner to BSS, PD, IT, and business stakeholders, the Product Owner translates strategic objectives into clearly defined, prioritized work for analysts and developers. This role focuses on what should be built and why, enabling development teams to remain focused on delivering high-quality, scalable solutions that drive revenue, efficiency, and Sailor experience.

This gig is based at VVHQ - our swanky Virgin Voyages Head Office in Plantation, FL where we follow a hybrid work environment. We can't wait to 'sea' you in person during our Collaboration Days, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, while you enjoy Mondays and Fridays' as remote days.

What You'll Be Up To:

  • Own and manage the product backlog for assigned systems and initiatives, ensuring work is clearly defined, prioritized, and ready for development

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand objectives related to revenue growth, Sailor Experience, efficiency, and operational performance

  • Translate business needs into clear, outcome-focused user stories and acceptance criteria

  • Lead backlog refinement and grooming sessions with Analysts and Developers

  • Make scope, priority, and tradeoff decisions to maximize business value

  • Ensure requirements are complete, testable, and aligned prior to development start

  • Partner closely with Analysts to validate workflows, rules, data, and edge cases

  • Collaborate with Developers to clarify intent and ensure feasibility without owning technical design

  • Accept completed work based on defined acceptance criteria and value delivered

  • Maintain alignment across BSS, PD, and IT teams to reduce rework and delivery friction

  • Support planning activities, including PI planning and roadmap discussions

  • Communicate priorities, changes, and impacts clearly to stakeholders

  • Act as an ambassador of the Virgin culture and values

  • Support special projects and initiatives as assigned

SuperPowers Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Technology, Hospitality, or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience in business systems, product ownership, business analysis, or related roles

  • Strong knowledge of Seaware and cruise line reservation systems preferred

  • Proven experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments

  • Ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements

  • Strong decision-making skills with comfort making tradeoffs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment

  • Close attention to detail with a strong focus on outcomes

  • Passion for continuous improvement and delivering value
