Product Owner/ Business Analyst – Tax Reporting

About the Role
We’re seeking a Business Analyst / Product Owner with strong expertise in U.S. tax reporting and securities processing. You’ll act as the bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams, ensuring our products meet complex IRS requirements while driving operational efficiency for global clients. This role combines product ownership, business analysis, and Agile/Scrum leadership to deliver impactful financial solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership
o
Define and prioritize product backlog items with a focus on IRS/regulatory compliance (cost basis, income reclassification, tax form production).
o
Act as Product Owner in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, ensuring clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and alignment with business goals.

Agile & Scrum Delivery
o
Collaborate with Scrum Masters and development teams to drive sprint planning, backlog refinement, and timely delivery.
o
Champion Agile practices, fostering transparency, adaptability, and continuous improvement across teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
o
Partner with Development, QA teams across geographies to deliver scalable, compliant solutions.
o
Facilitate workshops, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to align stakeholders and ensure shared understanding of product goals.

Client Engagement
o
Work directly with clients and partners to capture reporting needs, regulatory changes, and operational challenges.
o
Translate complex tax and securities requirements into actionable user stories and product features.

Domain Expertise
o
Apply deep knowledge of IRS/regulatory practices, withholding, corporate actions, and back-office operations.
o
Ensure solutions meet tax reporting/regulatory standards with accuracy, reliability, and audit readiness.
Qualifications

Hands-on industry experience in U.S. Tax Reporting and Securities Processing.

Strong knowledge of IRS requirements for cost basis, income, withholding, and form production.

Experience with back-office platforms (BPS, BETA preferred).

Demonstrated success working in Agile/Scrum environments as a Product Owner or Business Analyst.

Technical expertise in SQL, PostgreSQL, and Power BI for advanced data analysis, reporting, and visualization.

Strong communication abilities, adept at engaging with clients and stakeholders.

Education: BE / B.Tech / MCA / MBA or equivalent.

Flexibility to work in rotational shifts when required.
