Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner with a background in AI or machine learning products to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of AI technologies, data analytics, and machine learning principles, along with excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. You will be responsible for defining and communicating the vision for AI capabilities and collaborating with business leaders, developers, and end-users to gather AI use cases and requirements. Preferred experience includes working with data and AI stack features in Salesforce, Azure, and/or AWS. Key responsibilities include managing change effectively to ensure smooth transitions and adoption of new AI capabilities. The candidate should possess business acumen to align AI development with business goals, data literacy to inform decisions, and user research experience to understand needs and pain points. Additionally, experience in leading and collaborating with diverse, cross-functional teams is essential.
You will lead the team in managing all aspects of the product platform, including:
- Collaborating with upper management and key stakeholders to define the product vision, 3-year product roadmap, release plan, and backlog.
- Maintaining product-specific project plans and negotiating product feature requirements.
- Ensuring product quality and information security requirements are met.
- Translating requirements into overall system design.
- Coordinating product software releases and resolving product defects.
- Leading the team in using agile methodologies, including Scrum, to improve team effectiveness.
- Translating technical jargon to train internal teams and key stakeholders on product features, emphasizing how these features translate to business benefits.
- Working collaboratively to manage the product platform in conjunction with Architecture, Security Liaison, and the Platform Director.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience with third-party databases, libraries, interfaces, and internet protocols.
- Understanding of software engineering principles and techniques.
- Proficiency with software engineering tools and related technologies.
- Ability to facilitate and resolve disagreements over scope, design, and requirements.
- Knowledge of hardware, software, and network setup.
- Ability to articulate both marketing and IT needs/issues to all groups.
- Strong knowledge of technology skills and information technology techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Deep understanding of iterative/agile development methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Product Development, or a related field.
- 6-8 years of information technology experience.
- Agile Product Owner certification or equivalent preferred.
This position will be located at our National Executive Office in Memphis, TN and be eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
