The Wealth Management Platforms team works closely with Wealth Management product areas to define and drive the Advisor and Client experience, and we are in search of a talented and enthusiastic Product Owner to join our team.
As a Product Owner on the Advisory Platform team, you will be responsible for supporting the squad that delivers the next-generation Wealth Management platform for Morgan Stanley Advisors focusing on industry-leading solutions.

In the Wealth Management division, we help people, businesses and institutions build, preserve, and manage wealth so they can pursue their financial goals
Wealth Management (WM) Platforms manages industry-leading platforms, across all WM channels and client segments, to provide a unified digital experience, unlock growth, and deliver efficiencies for Advisors, Clients, and Institutions. WM Platforms consists of ten sub-teams including: Field Experience & Platforms, Digital Client Experience & Platforms, Workplace Platforms, Automation & Workflow, Digital Trading & Investing, Generative AI, UX Design & Research, Strategy & Execution, WM Platforms Risk, and the Chief Operating Office.
What you’ll do in the role:
- Manage the priorities of the squad and accurate delivery of work from their squad, from initial project ideation, scope development, requirements documentation, through Platform testing and launch.
- Document overall product feature prioritization, develop user stories and work within agile teams.
- Participate in platform design and development and monitor implementation timelines across different product/feature teams.
- Map out critical workflows and business processes to realize product/program goals.
- Elaborate on critical user journeys and use cases that align with the program vision and address critical customer needs.
- Conduct requirement review sessions with program stakeholders.
- Conduct requirements elicitation workshops and meetings with business, technology, legal, risk and compliance stakeholders.
- Partner with program management to plan and monitor overall product/program releases
- Assist with the development of adequate launch support across non-technology teams, including Field and Service Operations, Legal, Risk, Compliance and Platform teams.
- Specify acceptance criteria and scenarios and perform user acceptance testing as needed.
- Assist in gathering, organizing and assimilating internal and external feedback to support the prioritization of product/program gaps, enhancements, and new solutions and features.
- Lead discussions and devise solutions to address platform pain points of users.
- Support collaboration with UI/UX team to develop information/interaction architecture, user flows and wireframes.
- Support the platform in the collection and resolution of user feedback for new and legacy functionality.
Skills Required:
- Minimum 9.5 years of transferrable experience across work and higher education.
- At least 7+ years of experience as a key member of a wealth management home office platform team participating in the development lifecycle of successfully launched products/platforms.
- Experience in wealth management, international wealth management, multi-currency, data management and analysis, or workflow is a plus.
- Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
- Proficient at defining, analyzing, documenting, and communicating product and software requirements in a waterfall, agile and hybrid software development setting.
- Self-starter with entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Polished written and verbal communication skills able to effectively interact and influence a diverse set of business and technical stakeholders.
- Efficient at managing multiple tasks concurrently under deadline constraints.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
