Product Management Department

The Product Management department is responsible for the design and definition of our entire range of Technology products, from the mobile apps running in our schools to the apps powering our back office teams. The impact of the design and usability of these and other apps is significant - these are core tools that our staff use throughout the day, so every refinement and improvement makes a big difference to our staff - and consequently to the performance of our schools and the effectiveness of our teaching.

About the Role

We are an international, passionate team with locations across the globe, all working together to help children in underserved communities gain access to quality education.

Our digital portfolio is a set of software solutions that enable governments and communities to shape and reshape their systems and enable transformational education to take place. 

This role will be part of the Product Management team and our Technology group. Reporting to the Director of Product Management and closely collaborating with our Regional Teams, Software Development, and Product Managers.

This role is an extremely valuable part of the product management team and essential for achieving our growth plans.

Product Operations serves as the partner for many stakeholders in the organisation, from Operational, Product Management, all the way to our local teams. It is focused on making sure products are ready to be rolled out and made available to all of our users, as well as successfully implemented across our schools. In addition to owning operational readiness of the products, this role will support the Product Director in ensuring on-ground implementation of products and processes to support effective, timely and constructive feedback loops. 

This role will represent the product management team in our key locations based in Africa. 

An exciting opportunity to step into a cross-functional, high impact role that will help us drive improvements in our product roll-outs, driving initiatives to measure performance of existing products, and play a leading role in communication around our products.

What You Will Do 

  • Actively coordinate efforts to ensure operational readiness of our software products
  • Collaborate closely with regional IT Operations teams to ensure product roll out readiness and play an active role in planning for product rollouts across all countries
  • Lead development, management and compliance with roll-out calendars, as well as regular updates and communication around these 
  • Support in creation of improvements of roll-out processes through collaboration with local stakeholders as well as teams involved 
  • Support product management team with setting up feedback loops that contribute to successful development and roll out of the products, this can include user research activities, in-school observations and user testing 
  • Lead data analysis for product roll-out in programmes, gather qualitative insights and build processes to share the data with product management teams 
  • Support in identifying  measurement of product performance - building or identifying most appropriate tools to measure success, drive implementation of these tools

What You Should Have

  • 3+ years experience working in product operations function 
  • Strong understanding and/or experience of project management process
  • Strong affiliation and/or experience with data analytics 
  • Excellent use of Excel and/or proficiency in using G-Suite for effective decision making
  • Ability to develop effective measurement/tracking tools to support business decisions 
  • Strong problem solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
