Job Summary

The Product Marketing Specialist will develop and produce clear, accurate, and commercially effective product marketing content that communicates the value of MRI Software's platform and solutions to target buyers across global markets. This role combines content creation with broader product marketing responsibilities: contributing to product positioning and messaging, producing demand generation and launch content, supporting product release and upgrade go-to-market execution, and developing an informed understanding of the market segments, competitor landscape, and customer needs relevant to each product family.

This role is well suited to a commercially curious marketer with a strong writing foundation who wants to grow into a fully rounded product marketing function. It offers broad exposure across the product portfolio before potential specialization into a defined segment over time.

Success in this role will be measured by the quality, accuracy, and usability of content assets produced, their alignment to product messaging frameworks, and their effectiveness in supporting pipeline and sales enablement objectives.

Please note that this role requires working UK business hours (Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:30 BST/GMT) to support the global team.

We understand the need to provide a flexible working environment partnered with team collaboration and socialisation. Therefore, we operate a hybrid working model with 3 days of working from home per week. This role is based in the  Johannesburg office.

Duties / Responsibilities

1. Product Positioning & Messaging Support

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of product positioning and messaging frameworks in partnership with Product Marketing Managers

  • Help translate product capabilities, use cases, and differentiators into clear, buyer-ready value propositions for relevant personas and segments

  • Maintain working knowledge of messaging frameworks across the product portfolio, ensuring all content output is aligned to approved positioning

  • Support the ongoing refinement of messaging as products evolve, market conditions shift, or new competitive intelligence emerges

  • Assist PMMs in preparing messaging documentation, positioning briefs, and internal reference materials for use across sales, demand generation, and campaign teams

2. Content Creation

  • Produce a broad range of external-facing content assets including website copy, solution briefs, blog posts, case studies, product one-pagers, email copy, and social content

  • Write and coordinate production of product video scripts, demo narratives, and multimedia content briefs in partnership with Creative and Digital teams

  • Develop sales enablement content including battle cards, objection handling guides, competitive comparison documents, and product FAQs

  • Create middle and bottom of funnel assets including ROI guides, business case frameworks, comparison pages, and nurture sequences that support pipeline conversion

  • Ensure all content accurately reflects product capabilities, approved messaging, and brand voice, and is optimized for the relevant buyer audience and stage

  • Maintain and update existing content assets as products evolve, campaigns change, or messaging priorities shift

3. Demand Generation & Campaign Support

  • Work closely with Demand Generation teams to develop campaign content aligned to specific product lines, segments, and buyer stages

  • Support integrated campaign execution by producing the content assets required across email, web, paid, and event channels

  • Contribute to landing page copy, campaign messaging, and promotional content for product-led campaigns and seasonal initiatives

  • Monitor content performance in partnership with Demand Generation and apply insights to improve asset quality and relevance over time

4. Product Launch & Release Marketing

  • Act as the marketing execution resource for product launches, upgrades, and releases assigned by the PMM team

  • Support PMMs in developing and executing the marketing launch plan, coordinating relevant content, campaign, digital, and creative workstreams

  • Project manage marketing launch activities, maintaining clear timelines, tracking task completion across contributing teams, and flagging risks proactively

  • Produce launch-specific content including announcement copy, launch emails, updated website pages, release notes copy, and client communications

  • Coordinate with Product Management to understand release scope and ensure marketing assets accurately reflect new capabilities and positioning

  • Support internal launch readiness by producing sales briefings, enablement updates, and internal communications relevant to each release

5. Client Communications

  • Develop client-facing communications for product updates, upgrades, and releases, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and appropriate tone for existing customer audiences

  • Work with Customer Success and Product Management to understand the client impact of product changes and translate this into clear, benefit-led communications

  • Contribute to client engagement content including product newsletters, feature spotlight copy, and in-product messaging where relevant

6. Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Work with product marketing managers to help develop and maintain an informed understanding of industry trends, competitor capabilities, and customer needs within the GTM segments supported by this role

  • Conduct regular competitive monitoring across assigned segments, tracking competitor positioning, messaging, product updates, and go-to-market activity

  • Share relevant market and competitive intelligence with Product Management, Sales, and Marketing stakeholders in a timely and structured way

  • Contribute to the development of competitive battlecards, win/loss insights, and segment-specific positioning updates informed by market research

  • Support PMMs in preparing for analyst interactions, industry events, and thought leadership activities by providing relevant market context

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution

  • Work closely with Product Marketing Managers to receive direction, understand campaign and launch priorities, and execute to a high standard across all assigned workstreams

  • Collaborate with Creative Studio, Digital, Demand Generation, and regional marketing teams to ensure content integrates effectively with broader marketing execution
