About Numeric

Every business relies on accounting. Yet most software in the space was built in the early 2000s — clunky, slow, and far behind the curve on AI. Today, accountants are facing a growing, unsolved data problem as data volumes and systems complexity grow — and they lack the tools to solve it. The problems are real, hard, and increasingly urgent. But they’re solvable.

Enter Numeric — the modern financial data platform for accounting and finance. Weaving together data, workflows, and AI-first solutions, we’re empowering accounting teams to achieve verifiable, detailed financial data faster and make business decisions with greater confidence.

We have strong product-market-fit and a growing base of customers who love our product - including OpenAI, Plaid, Brex, Betterment, and many more. We’re backed by top-tier investors including IVP, Menlo Ventures, Founders Fund, and 8VC and recently closed a $51M Series B.

About the Role

Our product is rapidly improving and customer demand is increasing — so much so that our marketing and sales teams can barely keep up! We’re bringing on a Product Marketing Manager to help communicate product improvements to our customers / prospects and surface market insights across our team.

As the 2nd PMM at Numeric, you’ll help shape the function and have an influence across a number of products and functions. Example projects include:

  • Own major product launches, coordinating across the marketing team for the right campaigns, content, and collateral necessary to bring new products to market.

  • Build out ongoing enablement and sales collateral for our sales and marketing teams on product and market developments, influencing deals across the pipeline.

  • Conduct deep research into customer pain points and continuously refine our product positioning used across the entirety of our company.

  • Communicate with our existing customers on updates to the product and bidirectionally provide feedback across sales and product to refine our product strategy and sales motion.

If successful, you’ll have substantially contributed to Numeric’s growth and have laid the groundwork for future PMMs to join and expand the function.

About You

Our philosophy is to hire high-slope generalists who learn fast, take ownership, and operate with integrity. If that’s you, we’d love for you to apply, regardless of background.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of work experience in a cross-functional role and have exposure to marketing / GTM work. Example archetypes might be:

  • Marketer that is looking for more ownership and opportunities to lead 0 → 1 initiatives

  • Consultant with exposure to tech and GTM projects who wants to move from advising to owning and executing

  • AE looking to transition from selling to shaping overall GTM strategy

  • Founder or early-stage operator eager to see all parts of a business and build processes from scratch

We are not looking for a specific candidate profile. More important than background, you exhibit the following traits:

  • You’re a self-starter. You’re drawn to the idea of building from scratch and creating the blueprint for future projects. You solicit inputs from the across the team — but can operate with considerable autonomy, making the early-stage environment a strong fit.

  • You’re creative. Before jumping to exactly how similar problems have been solved in the past, you think from first-principles. In every role you’ve joined, you’ve brought unorthodox ideas to the table. Brainstorming comes naturally to you.

  • You’re an excellent communicator. Whether in writing or in conversation, you’re known for communicating effectively. You have a knack for compelling copy and appreciate a well timed metaphor or turn of phrase to make challenging concepts digestible.

  • You’re a pro at cross-functional work. Product, sales, other marketing functions — you love learning about it all and thrive when you’ve got eyes across core projects in the company. In prior roles, you’ve often gravitated to work across teams and naturally build strong relationships company-wide.

  • You work quickly, but maintain a high standard of quality. Speed is important. And, for many of the items you’ll work on, quality is critical. You’ve honed the skillset of determining the specific quality bar for each project you’re working on and have an instinct for when to move fast and when to slow down to make the most progress.

How we work at Numeric
  • We believe that small, focused teams can have huge impacts. This means that our team is ready to tackle projects across the company when needed and we devote enough focus time to stay productive.

  • We are an in-person company. We believe that when things are moving quickly, working in-person is key to providing everyone with context, adapting, and, well, it’s more fun this way

  • We move fast and believe that often the best way to learn is by doing.

  • We deeply care about this company. We care about the product we’re building, our customer base, and each other.

  • We’re genuinely excited the world of accounting (even though most of us were brand new to it before we joined). While you may not share the same love on Day 1, we look for people excited about the prospect of re-shaping an industry and diving deep to learn about our customers.

And, important to note, we take business building seriously. But we aim to never take ourselves too seriously & laugh a lot.
