Nabu Casa is the organisation behind Home Assistant, the world's largest free and open-source smart home platform used by over two million households. We were founded to ensure the project's sustainability, and in 2024, we partnered with the Open Home Foundation to protect and promote a wide range of open-source initiatives. Our guiding principles—privacy, choice, and sustainability—are embedded in everything we do, from our architecture to our community.
We are a profitable company with no external investors. Our funding comes directly from users who subscribe to Home Assistant Cloud and purchase Home Assistant hardware, ensuring our only stakeholders are our employees and our users. We also support other open-source projects, including those focused on hardware, standards, and voice technology.
The Role
Nabu Casa is looking for a versatile and proactive Product Marketing Specialist to join our fully remote team full-time.
As the first member of our new Marketing team, you’ll help establish processes and set the tone for future marketing activities at Nabu Casa. In this role, you’ll shape how our products and brand are communicated to the world. You’ll translate complex technology into simple, compelling stories that resonate with our community, support the launch of new hardware and cloud products, and help strengthen our presence across digital channels.
You’ll play a key role in aligning product, content, brand, and marketing operations to deliver a seamless and engaging experience that reflects our values of openness, privacy, and simplicity.
What you are going to doTranslate technical features into clear, compelling benefits.
Collaborate with product managers to position, name, and launch new hardware and cloud updates.
Create and coordinate blog posts, newsletters, landing pages, homepage messaging, and user stories.
Develop content strategies that drive engagement and awareness.
Ensure tone of voice and visual identity are consistent across all marketing materials.
Manage campaign calendars, track budgets, and support analytics and reporting.
Optimize and maintain marketing automation tools and workflows.
Coordinate with distributors on co-funded campaigns, training, and marketing assets.
Support the creation of partner enablement materials.
Improve homepage and product page experience for Nabu Casa and distributors.
Drive SEO and CRO initiatives to increase traffic and conversions.
What you need to have
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Proven experience in marketing roles across multiple functions (product, content, brand, or operations).
A structured and analytical mindset — able to plan campaigns and track results.
Ability to work independently in a fully remote, asynchronous team environment.
Proactive attitude and curiosity to learn about smart home technology and our community.
Experience working in a startup or tech company.
Familiarity with Home Assistant or the smart home ecosystem.
Knowledge of SEO and/or CRO best practices.
Experience with partner or channel marketing.
Fluency in additional European languages.
What we offer you
Nabu Casa is a fully remote organization that uses Remote to employ people from all over the world. You will be a normal salaried employee in your country.
This is a full-time position for 40 hours per week. Because we are a fully remote company, there is no fixed schedule. For the purpose of team communication, we do try to ensure at least 3 hours of overlap in the workday. You will report to our VP Commercial, based in Norway.
Core to the establishment of Nabu Casa was the well-being of the people building the future of the smart home. We will provide all the benefits required by the country you reside in. Five weeks (twenty-five days) of paid time off.

When first offering a position to a new member, Nabu Casa aims to provide a total compensation package that matches the 75th percentile for the new hire's role, seniority, and local market rates. For a Product Marketing Specialist in our primary operating countries, the approximate yearly compensation will be the following
France: 65.500 - 83.500 EUR
Ireland: 77.000 - 98.000 EUR
Italy: 60.500 - 77.000 EUR
Portugal: 54.000-69.000 EUR
Spain: 60.000- 76.500 EUR
UK: 65.500 - 85.500 GBP
Other countries: Compensation can be discussed during the first interview.
These figures may be adjusted based on experience, qualifications, and work hours.
