About the Team

OpenAI’s marketing team advances our mission by helping people and organizations understand what AI can make possible and how to put it to work responsibly. Industry product marketing connects our technology with the needs of specific markets, bringing customer insight into our decisions and helping customers move from interest to meaningful adoption. We are looking for product marketing leads across Life Sciences, Healthcare, and Financial Services. Each lead will own the strategy and execution for their industry and help shape OpenAI’s place in it.

About the Role

This is a senior leadership role that is responsible for shaping our go-to-market in a given vertical. You’ll make choices about priority use cases, shape our positioning, and align teams around a focused plan. You’ll bring evidence from the market into product and go-to-market decisions, build relationships with senior customer leaders, and stay close to execution.

You’ll be accountable for an industry strategy that earns customer trust, increases adoption, and supports business growth. We’re looking for someone who can set a long-term direction, influence consequential decisions, and build the programs and customer evidence needed to deliver on it.

In This Role You Will

  • Own the industry strategy. Assess the market, choose priority segments and use cases, and define a clear plan for growth, including where we will not focus.

  • Shape product and go-to-market decisions. Bring customer needs, market evidence, and competitive insight to Product, Research, and GTM leaders. Make clear recommendations and work through tradeoffs.

  • Build executive customer relationships. Engage senior business and technical leaders on their priorities, AI opportunities, adoption barriers, and measures of success.

  • Define our industry positioning. Explain where OpenAI can deliver differentiated value, grounded in customer realities and the capabilities and limitations of our products.

  • Develop customer evidence. Work with customers and internal teams to document credible outcomes and ROI, understand what makes adoption successful, and build repeatable use cases.

  • Lead cross-functional execution. Align Product, Sales, Solutions, Partnerships, Marketing, and Customer Success around priorities and outcomes. Turn the strategy into launches, executive programs, campaigns, and field enablement.

  • Set the bar for credibility and trust. Partner with Policy, Legal, and Comms on accurate claims and responsible customer-facing guidance in regulated, high-trust industries.

  • Be accountable for results. Set measures tied to adoption, pipeline contribution, and market growth. Evaluate performance with GTM partners and adjust priorities and investment as evidence changes.

You Might Thrive in This Role If You

  • 10+ years of experience leading product marketing, industry strategy, or enterprise go-to-market work at significant scale, with a track record of shaping strategy and delivering measurable business outcomes.

  • Bring deep expertise in Financial Services, Healthcare, or Life Sciences, including how organizations buy, adopt technology, manage risk, and measure value.

  • Have the credibility to advise C-suite customers and the judgment to challenge assumptions respectfully.

  • Can influence consequential decisions across senior technical and commercial leaders without relying on formal authority.

  • Understand complex enterprise technology and translate it into clear positioning and compelling narratives without overstating what it can do.

  • Combine strategic judgment with hands-on execution. You can set a direction, write the first draft, and follow through across launches, customer programs, and field enablement.

  • Use customer evidence, product usage, and market insight to make decisions and adapt quickly in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.

  • Bring strong writing and editorial judgment, technical curiosity, and a commitment to helping organizations adopt AI safely and responsibly.
