Overall Purpose

The Product Marketing Director will help shape the next phase of Paze growth across ecommerce and emerging payment experiences, including in-person and New Features/Use Cases-enabled use cases.

Sitting at the intersection of Product, Marketing, Insights, and Partnerships, this leader helps define market strategy, segmentation, messaging, and go-to-market plans that connect Paze capabilities to consumer, merchant, financial institution, and partner needs.

This role will bring the voice of the market and customer into Paze strategy—identifying priority segments and use cases, translating insights into differentiated positioning, and partnering with Product to inform future capabilities and roadmap priorities. The ideal candidate combines strategic product marketing expertise, customer curiosity, and a bias toward execution.

Essential Functions

  • Own product marketing strategy for Paze ecommerce and emerging payment experiences, including new use cases, segments, channels, and in-person/New Features/Use Cases-enabled payments.

  • Develop segmentation and identify priority opportunities across consumers, merchants, verticals, financial institutions, and ecosystem partners.

  • Build differentiated positioning, and messaging that clearly articulate the value of Paze to key audiences.

  • Translate customer and market insights into product strategy, partnering with Product to identify unmet needs, evaluate opportunities, and influence roadmap priorities.

  • Lead go-to-market strategy for new capabilities and use cases, including positioning, messaging, launch planning, partner readiness, activation, and optimization.

  • Partner with Insights and Analytics to test value propositions, assess market opportunities, understand customer needs, and measure performance.

  • Create a market-to-product feedback loop, synthesizing customer, partner, competitive, and performance insights into actionable recommendations.

  • Define and track success metrics for product marketing and go-to-market initiatives, including adoption, activation, usage, and other relevant business outcomes.

  • Serve as a central connector across Product, Marketing, Insights, and Partnerships, aligning teams around customer needs, priorities, launches, and success measures.

  • Partner with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Communications to ensure messaging and product claims are accurate, compliant, and reinforce trust.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Typically, a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in product marketing, product strategy, go-to-market, growth, or related roles, preferably within payments, fintech, ecommerce, digital commerce, or technology.

  • Demonstrated experience developing segmentation, positioning, value propositions, messaging, and go-to-market strategies.

  • Experience launching new products, capabilities, or use cases and driving adoption and optimization.

  • Strong customer and market orientation, with the ability to turn research, customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and data into strategic recommendations.

  • Proven ability to partner with Product and translate market needs and customer insights into product and roadmap recommendations.

  • Ability to move between strategic thinking and hands-on execution in a fast-moving, evolving environment.

  • Strong cross-functional leadership, influencing, communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.

  • Background and drug screen.

  • Experience in payments, digital wallets, ecommerce, checkout, contactless/New Features/Use Cases payments, or digital commerce.

  • Understanding regulatory, risk, privacy, and compliance considerations within payments and financial services.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers. Employee must be able to perform essential functions and physical requirements of position with or without reasonable accommodation.

The base pay scale for this position in:
New York, NY/ San Francisco, CA in USD per year is: $186,000 - $232,000.
