The Service Oklahoma (SOK) mission is to ease the stress in navigating government services by providing a best-in-class customer experience. We are Oklahomans helping Oklahomans by providing driver license and motor vehicle services on behalf of the state.
This position has an annual rate of $65,000.
The Service Oklahoma offers a generous benefits package, including a benefits allowance to off-set the costs of medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans. The Service Oklahoma will match up to 7% towards an employee’s Defined Contribution retirement plan. Our employees receive 11 paid holidays, 15 days of paid annual leave, which increases with every 5 years of service, and 15 days of paid sick leave. Additionally, employees will receive longevity payments based on their years of service with the State of Oklahoma.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Product Manager position oversees the full lifecycle of a product ensuring alignment with the business goals and user needs while improving the overall digital experience.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed by the employee assigned to this position. It should not be construed as an exhaustive list of all required duties, responsibilities and skills.

  • Works closely with the Digital Experience Manager, UI/UX Designer, developers and other stakeholders to align product strategy with business and customer goals.
  • Provides clear, well written, and easy to understand functional requirements to developers to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Identifies new opportunities that align with the product vison to add to the backlog while working current projects through the product lifecycle to ensure the product roadmap is consistently moving.
  • Interacts with customers and staff to understand their experience to share with the Director Experience, Digital Experience Manager, and UI/UX Designer to identify opportunities for product improvement.
  • Ensures product deliverables meet quality standards, customer needs, and business objectives.
  • Develops post-launch support documentation and strategies that ensure smooth delivery and minimal disruptions.

This position may be expected to cross-train in other sections of their division and perform the job duties in each section, based on the needs of the agency. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Ability to understand goals, needs, and outcomes to create solutions that not only solve problems, but improve digital experience for customers.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions to solve problems and evaluate issues as needed to ensure products are delivered successfully.
  • Knowledge in industry changes, fully exploring all solution possibilities.
  • Skilled in reviewing feedback and gathering data necessary to influence and support solutions.
  • Skilled in product management methodologies and successful application.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

The preferred minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration in any field,
  • OR two (2) years of experience in product management, or a closely related field,
  • OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preference may be given to candidates who:

  • Five (5) years of experience in product management in lieu of education.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The schedule for this position may vary and require flexibility, including some early or late shifts, weekends, and occasional overtime, based on the needs of the agency. 
  • This position may require occasional travel.  The employee must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel.  State vehicles may be available, but reliable transportation may be required for local travel. 
  • This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday.
