Role Overview
The Product Manager is responsible for product planning and
execution across the full product lifecycle. This includes gathering and
prioritizing customer and business requirements, defining a clear product
vision, and ensuring the product aligns with organizational strategy and goals.
The role works closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality,
user‑centric digital solutions in complex environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead
product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle
- Gather,
analyze, and prioritize product and customer requirements
- Define
and communicate a clear product vision and strategy
- Build
and maintain a product roadmap aligned with business priorities
- Ensure
the product supports overall organizational strategy and goals
- Create
buy‑in for the product vision internally and with external partners
- Define,
track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for product success
- Manage
and prioritize the product backlog, release planning, and delivery
milestones
- Lead
product demos, roadmap reviews, and stakeholder updates
Qualifications & Experience
Core Skills and Experience (40%)
- 5+
years of product management experience within IT or digital services
- Proven
experience delivering large‑scale digital or IT transformation initiatives
- Demonstrated
success delivering user‑centric products in complex environments
- Hands‑on
experience with Agile delivery, Scrum, and Lean product development
- Strong
experience working with cross‑functional delivery teams
Technical Skills and Experience (35%)
- Ability
to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and user
stories
- Experience
conducting product discovery and defining product vision and strategy
- Strong
backlog management, prioritization, and release planning experience
- Experience
delivering MRDs and PRDs with prioritized features and justification
Communication & Documentation Skills (20%)
- Excellent
communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Ability
to engage stakeholders at all levels, including executives and technical
teams
- Experience
leading product demos, roadmap sessions, and governance updates
Public Sector Experience (5%)
- Experience
with Ontario Public Sector (OPS) IT project and architectural governance
- Knowledge
of public‑sector digital, accessibility, and cybersecurity standards
