We’re looking for an experienced and collaborative Product Manager to join our growing product team. Reporting to the Head of Product, you’ll take independent ownership of a defined set of features and product areas driving them from discovery through delivery while working closely with engineering, design, and key stakeholders. This is a hands-on role that sits at the intersection of strategy and execution: you’ll be expected to think critically about user needs and business goals, write clear and actionable requirements, and keep delivery moving in a fast-paced agile environment. If you’re a PM who thrives on ownership, enjoys working with a tight-knit cross-functional team, and wants to have a real impact on a growing SaaS product, this role is for you.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for assigned features and product areas from initial discovery and requirements definition through to launch and post-launch iteration.
- Write clear, well-scoped user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria that give the engineering team what they need to build with confidence.
- Maintain and prioritize the backlog for your assigned areas, balancing user needs, business value, and technical constraints in collaboration with the Head of Product.
- Actively participate in sprint planning, grooming, and daily standups
- Lead discovery work for upcoming initiatives, including user interviews, usability feedback analysis, competitive research, and stakeholder input gathering.
- Collaborate with the Product Designer to ensure features are well-designed and user-centered before moving into development.
- Partner with engineering leads to understand technical constraints and opportunities, incorporating them into product decisions and roadmap planning.
- Define and track success metrics for your product areas, using data and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with the Head of Product to audit, organize, and prioritize incoming feature requests from clients, ensuring they are assessed against product strategy and roadmap priorities.
- Triage and prioritize bug reports escalated by the customer success team for product areas under your ownership, working with engineering to assess impact and sequence fixes appropriately.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders on priorities, progress, and trade-offs; escalating decisions to the Head of Product where appropriate.
- Contribute to broader product strategy discussions and help evolve team processes and ways of working as the organization grows.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong ability to translate ambiguous problems and business goals into clear, actionable product requirements.
- Proven experience managing a product backlog, writing user stories, and running agile ceremonies in a fast-paced delivery environment.
- Comfortable leading discovery: conducting user interviews, synthesizing feedback, and using insights to inform prioritization and requirements.
- Sufficient technical acumen to independently research and evaluate the scope of technical integrations (such as payment gateways or EMV device software), assess high-level effort and complexity, and engage developers with informed, well-structured questions
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working closely alongside engineering, design, and business stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities with clarity and good judgment, keeping delivery on track without sacrificing quality.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication, with the ability to tailor messaging for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with product management and project tracking tools such as Shortcut, Jira, or equivalent.
- Curiosity about users, market trends, and the competitive landscape.
- Comfortable working in a lean team environment where ownership, adaptability, and initiative are essential.
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity across core PM tasks including drafting requirements, synthesizing research, and accelerating discovery work.
- A willingness to proactively explore and adopt AI tools and workflows to improve personal and team productivity as the technology evolves.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience in a product management role, ideally within a SaaS or software product environment.
- Demonstrated experience owning features or product areas independently through a full delivery lifecycle.
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies and experience working within sprint-based development teams.
- Experience conducting user research or customer discovery and translating findings into product decisions.
- Comfortable navigating technical documentation and vendor specs to inform planning and scoping decisions.
Salary range: $68,152 - $120,000 CAD
