The RoleWe’re looking for a Product Manager, Renter Lifecycle to own and evolve Obligo’s user-facing app experiences after a renter chooses Obligo from billing and renewals through move-out and ongoing account management.
This role is ideal for a PM who is obsessed with users and strong in business judgment, and who believes that clarity, language, and experience design are core drivers of trust, retention, and revenue in complex financial products.
As Product Manager, Renter Lifecycle, you will:
- Own end-to-end renter lifecycle experiences across billing & payments, renewals, move-out, and the logged-in Renter Portal.
- Act as the primary advocate for the renter, ensuring experiences are clear, fair, and trust-building.
- Lead discovery and execution within your scope, balancing user needs, business outcomes, operational constraints, and compliance.
- Own the end-to-end user experience and in-product language, treating UX and copy as core product surfaces, and iterating on emails and in-product copy based on user feedback and data.
- Own product specs, sprint planning, and execution, including backlog management and high-quality tickets in Jira (or similar tools).
- Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Risk, Legal, and Operations to deliver scalable renter lifecycle solutions.
- Define success metrics and use experimentation, qualitative research, and analytics to continuously improve retention and overall lifecycle performance.
- Bring clear insights, recommendations, and tradeoffs to inform cross-funnel prioritization and product strategy.
- 4+ years of hands-on product management experience, with ownership of a significant user-facing product area or end-to-end customer journey.
- Experience owning complex, multi-step lifecycle flows (e.g. onboarding, billing, account management) that involve ongoing user relationships, edge cases, and real business tradeoffs.
- Obsessed with users, you care deeply about how users feel, what they understand, and how product decisions shape trust, behavior, and long-term retention.
- Solid understanding of mobile and web product development practices, enabling effective partnership with Engineering.
- Own sprint planning and execution for your product area, including backlog management and high-quality tickets in Jira (or similar tools) in close collaboration with Engineering.
- Strong product copywriting skills, with experience crafting clear, human, trust-building in-product language.
- Strong product judgment at the intersection of user experience and business outcomes, balancing renter trust, revenue, and operational constraints.
- Proficiency with product analytics tools such as Mixpanel, FullStory, Amplitude, or similar.
- Highly organized, execution-oriented, and comfortable owning outcomes within a defined scope.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical and structured thinker with a bias toward data-informed decision-making.
- Comfortable using AI tools to accelerate discovery, documentation, copy iteration, and analysis
- Experience building user-facing products in FinTech, PropTech, payments, or other regulated environments where trust, clarity, and compliance matter.
- Familiarity with billing, payments, or money movement flows (e.g. ACH, cards, account verification), especially as experienced by end users.
- Experience working on products with ongoing customer relationships (e.g. subscriptions, renewals, account management, lifecycle products).
- Comfort collaborating closely with Legal, Risk, or Operations partners in complex product environments.
- Experience working with third-party integrations in the financial or SaaS ecosystem (e.g. Plaid, Stripe, Dwolla, Modern Treasury).
