Job Description
Your Role:
The Product Manager is a key role within the Product Management / Client Portfolio Management team responsible for the ownership of internal reporting and content creation, being a subject matter expert with respect to the set of investment strategies the team represents, and a driver of research related to product/competitive trends. The individual also acts as a business manager for their strategies liaising with legal, compliance, marketing and other departments to help with content and other potential issues. Strong communication and organizational skills are core requirements for the position. The Product Manager must have an intimate knowledge of the investment philosophy and process of each investment product supported. This includes a detailed understanding of current investment themes within the portfolio, knowledge of the portfolio holdings, risk attributes of the strategy, past and current positioning, near-term outlook for the strategy and performance. Keys to success in this role is having the ability to produce accurate and timely content while demonstrating the ability to think outside of the box regarding marketing of the products, and to be nimble and re-focus quickly as business needs evolve.
The Product Manager acts as an extension of the portfolio management team, this individual must have a strong understanding of the markets and be regarded as a credible source of information and perspective for both fundamental and macro-economic factors affecting your respective asset class. They must be viewed as a subject matter expert on investment and product issues pertaining to their strategies.
You Will Be Responsible For:
The Product Manager will be responsible for coverage of a set of investment strategies across geographic markets and retail and institutional channels:
Product & Investments Expertise

Work closely with the team’s portfolio managers and Client Portfolio Managers to become deeply knowledgeable of each product. The Product Manager must have an intimate knowledge of the investment philosophy and process of each investment product supported. This includes a detailed understanding of current investment themes within the portfolio, knowledge of portfolio holdings, risk attributes of the strategy, past and current positioning of the portfolio, near-term outlook for the strategy and performance attribution.

Represent investment teams to internal clients and external clients. Effectively articulate investment processes and performance and communicate the portfolio management team’s outlook and investment perspectives.

Know the competitive landscape/peer group; stay current on market trends and competitive developments in all relevant distribution channels. Be able to clearly articulate what differentiates our products from the competition.
Business Management

Act as client advocate and “general manager” with the business units, ensure products are delivering outcomes that match client expectations. This includes liaising with the legal, compliance, accounting and trading functions on matters relating to the investment strategies.

Assist the Client Portfolio Managers in the development and implementation of business plans to drive organic growth, profitability and asset retention. Partner with Product Development for new product or product rationalization initiatives.
Distribution & Marketing Support

Liaise with the firm’s various marketing and RFP teams to ensure all data and responses regarding a given product are accurate and appropriate.

Be a key driver of quarterly investment commentaries and regulatory commentary content

Assist Sales with custom proposals for significant business opportunities and participate in client calls/meetings as needed.

In partnership with the Client Portfolio Managers and investment team, develop a message for clients and prospects re: the investment capabilities of the team’s various strategies. This includes playing a prominent role in creating and reviewing marketing and meeting materials, and providing regular communications, analysis and insights to our Sales team for use with clients.

Develop and implement effective product marketing initiatives designed to build sales momentum and/or defend a critical investment franchise.

Support Distribution with training, large conferences, meeting support. Manage the ongoing internal and external experience for our products and work with Marketing to support fund specific content.
Key Stakeholder Interactions You Will Own:
Interact effectively with Invesco’s internal teams:

Manage and support product marketing collateral suite and quarterly reporting processes

Assist in crafting responses to RFP/RFI questionnaires

Collaborate with team members on strategic and ad-hoc projects

Coordinate other efforts between departments (i.e., marketing, compliance, operations)
Client-related interactions:

Develop subject matter expertise regarding offerings as well as key investment strategy, team and approach messaging

Prepare client presentations, reporting and marketing materials

Work with team members to liaise with sales force to ensure timely and high-quality client deliverables

Participate in thought leadership initiatives including commentaries, whitepapers, and other media
The Experience You Bring:

Undergraduate degree required, preferably in business or related discipline.

MBA/CFA preferred.

Series 7 and 63 required.

4 – 8 years of related experience in financial services.

A strong work ethic, and relentless pursuit of delivering timely, accurate and high-quality content. Strong communication and organizational skills are required.

Entrepreneurial spirit, with a focus on continuous improvement and willingness to learn, embrace and lead change, determination to find creative solutions to problems.

Technical skills, including strong investment acumen, understanding of financial markets and economics, proficiency with Bloomberg, Microsoft Office, Morningstar and other software products.

Passion for the industry and capital markets is a must.

Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal.

Good people and interpersonal skills.
The salary range for this position in New York is $130,000 - $155,000 annually. The total compensation offered for this position includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills, experience, and location.
