The Product Manager is accountable for overseeing and managing the introduction of a product from concept to commercialization.  The PM will establish new product project definitions that balance the voice of the consumer and customer, market price, competitive differentiation, targeted distribution channels, manufacturability, available technology, volume potential, and net margin. 

In addition, the role of the PM is also to ensure that active products continue to meet profitability and customer expectations throughout their lifecycles. 

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the competitive landscape to decide positioning of new products and differentiated value propositions
  • Act as the gatekeeper to the stage-gate pipeline process and engage in the new product development State Gate process for stage gate decisions
  • Encourage cross-functional collaboration and reinforce project managers on delivering programs on time, on-budget, and within scope
  • Manage end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept development, research, and validation to launch and post-launch improvements
  • Participate with sales, marketing and pricing on setting retailer specific program strategies
  • Adept at managing and maintaining relationships between multifunctional team members
  • Lead and obtain strategic buy-in from internal and external stakeholders
  • Act as a SME during initial product roll-out and provide support when needed
  • Responsible for measuring success of product launches through performance metrics, customer feedback and market trends to make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3 – 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in consumer-packaged goods or consumer products
  • Strong understanding of product development methodologies
  • Strong business P&L acumen and experience to achieve profitable growth
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present and communicate effectively both internally and externally
  • Skilled at gathering insights through a customer-centric approach with a focus on delivering products that meet customer and consumer needs
  • Experience within chemicals would be desirable
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to improve business processes and practices to reduce costs and increase efficiency
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Natural tendency to be curious, positive and creative with the ability to think strategically

The expected compensation range for this position is between $102,300.00 and $143,220.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
