As a Product Manager at Invoice Cloud, you will lead a product delivery team focused on Payer-facing capabilities. Daily, you’ll be expected to work with stakeholders inside and outside the company to understand customer problems and business opportunities, and work with our delivery team to solve them. You will own the strategy, roadmap, and execution of these initiatives, and will lead a cross-functional team to drive results. Someone successful in this role feels equally comfortable meeting with customers and prospects, evaluating partnership opportunities, and writing user stories.

First 30 days

  • Gain an understanding of Invoice Cloud’s SaaS products – verticals served, payment methods, user flows – through internal discussions and by completing training on the platform.
  • Review current backlog and roadmap and build an understanding of all documented product initiatives.
  • Participate in product team calls / meetings and begin to integrate into the delivery team
  • Shadow customer calls to develop customer empathy

First 90 days

  • Meet with our top customers in the Utility, Tax, and Insurance verticals
  • Educate developers on the overall mission, including the business drivers, and create team alignment and motivation around payer adoption, driving bottoms-up ideation.
  • Work with our UX and Marketing teams to improve our Payer user personas.
  • Review existing data sources to evaluate user behavior, including internal data and Pendo.
  • Become well-versed in the payments industry, including an in-depth understanding of what happens when payments are processed.

Ongoing

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and the R&D team to build a complete product roadmap for your area, making sure the sequence is aligned with company goals and value creation.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of our billers’ and payers’ workflows, identifying opportunities to improve overall satisfaction and key metrics.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to define key metrics and develop a strategy for positively impacting those metrics.
  • Identify adoption improvement opportunities that can be solved without using R&D resources, prioritize them, and work with the appropriate teams to make changes. This includes biller onboarding, biller website optimizations, and other out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Gain a holistic understanding of the payments market to identify disruptive opportunities in payments experience.
  • Build both back-end and front-end solutions to improve payments workflows.
  • Define methods and metrics for identifying success and failure while ensuring the team is clear on their objectives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a BA / BS, preferably in computer science, engineering, or other quantitatively oriented fields. An advanced degree in business or relevant field is a major plus.
  • 2+ years of SaaS product management experience with product owner responsibilities.
  • Experience publishing APIs with a development team, and comfortable talking with customers and implementation teams about their use.
  • Has demonstrated an owner’s mentality for their product area, is obsessive about the small details, and is passionate about the product and space that they lead.
  • Experience in the payments industry preferred, but not required.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with demonstrated experience in customer and competitive research.
  • Exceptionally clear and precise communication skills – able to effectively communicate both strategic vision and specific details to customers and internal stakeholders.
