About GovPilot:

GovPilot provides cloud-based software solutions to local governments, aiming to make our communities better places to live and work. As a mission-driven company, GovPilot is committed to creating impactful technology that serves the public good.

We are looking for team members who take pride in their work and seek to consistently improve themselves, their skills, and their knowledge. If this sounds like you–and the type of work environment where you’d thrive–we hope you’ll join us!

What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary.
  • Unlimited PTO.
  • Flexible working hours and remote work options.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Professional development opportunities and learning budget.
  • Home office and IT budget.
  • Supportive team environment.
  • The chance to work on innovative projects with cutting-edge technologies.

The Position:

We're looking for a Product Manager who wants to run the day-to-day of our Hedgerow product org. You'll work across the GovPilot ecosystem, GovTech, SDL, and Hedgerow, owning the roadmap and pushing the team to use AI well — both in how we build product and what we build.

This is not a role for someone who wants a defined roadmap handed to them and a backlog to just execute against. You'll set the direction yourself and run the machinery that turns it into shipped work. You'll be judged on outcomes, not on meetings run or tickets closed. We want someone who runs fast, adapts agile to what the team actually needs rather than what the textbook says, and has real opinions on where AI helps product work and where it's hype.

  • Own the product roadmap and prioritize based on customer needs, business goals, and technical tradeoffs
  • Run sprint planning, standups, retros, and backlog grooming, adapting the process to what the team actually needs
  • Write clear specs, user stories, and acceptance criteria that engineers can build from without guessing
  • Work closely with engineering leads to keep the team's velocity and quality high
  • Bring AI into the product, both as a feature area and as a way the team works
  • Talk to customers regularly and turn what you hear into product decisions
  • Report on progress and tradeoffs to leadership in plain language
  • 5+ years in product management, with real experience running agile teams (Scrum, Kanban, or your own hybrid that works)
  • A track record of shipping software and owning outcomes, not just outputs
  • Strong opinions about AI and how it's changing product work, backed by hands-on experience using AI tools yourself
  • Comfortable running a team's operating rhythm: planning, prioritization, and keeping people unblocked
  • Clear writer and communicator, able to explain a decision to an engineer and a non-technical exec with equal clarity
  • A convincing advocate who can internalize customers' motivations and speak their language, including familiarity with the environmental health domain and awareness of US and Canadian audiences
  • Design taste: a strong eye for UI/UX, and comfortable facilitating user testing to validate product decisions
  • A lot of agency — you lead without waiting to be told, and adapt when the plan changes

Bonus: experience in GovTech, SaaS, or selling to non-technical buyers. You've run a migration using agile before, moving a team or product off an old system without stalling delivery. Experience in environmental health or other GovTech niches. A fundamental understanding of financial subsystems including billing, aging, and penalization.

How to Apply:

If you are passionate about technology and eager to work on a dynamic team, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your resume and cover letter today!

Application Process:
  1. Screening call with a recruiter
  2. Hiring Manager Interview
  3. Team Interview
  4. Final Interview with GovPIlot CEO
Equal Opportunity Employer:

GovPilot is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. It's important to us that our workforce reflects people of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences and by providing this data, if you choose to, it will help us to stay accountable.

Join us in creating amazing technology solutions that make a difference. Apply today!
