Founded in 1969, EMS is the most comprehensive source for all microscopy and general laboratory research fields. Azer Scientific was founded in 2003 and has grown into a leading healthcare supplier serving histology laboratories. The two brands share a common mission to partner with customers to drive service innovation within the life sciences and diagnostic industries and, today, serve customers across 100 countries.

 

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY

At Biolyst Scientific, Electron Microscopy Sciences | Azer Scientific we’re proud to offer innovative products that meet the needs of our customers. To help us continue expanding our offerings, we’re in search of an experienced product manager to lead a multidisciplinary development team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for gaps in consumer product offerings and an innovative mindset for filling them. In this role you will strategize the full lifecycle of a product, from conception to release, guide cross-functional teams in the creation of products that improve customer experience and market share. You will drive the product and business planning processes, analyze customer needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships. Analyze product requirements and develop appropriate programs to ensure they’re met.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in the development and launch of new product lines and product improvements; tasks may include market research, existing line extensions, new product development, collateral creation, and pricing.
  • Review and complete all product adds and upload them into the ERP system.
  • Maintain and audit product data including e-commerce data.
  • Assist in creating and delivering training programs and materials for sales reps and follow up with them to ensure timely and efficient field support.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop promotional pieces and design packaging.
  • Develop and run reports that summarize and analyze marketing promotional results.
  • Work with inventory management to ensure proper stock levels and service level goals are met.
  • Assess product samples against desired specifications, develop production plans, manufacture forecasts, and evaluate vendors by working with Quality.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and vice versa.
  • Define and track success metrics.
  • Ensure timely completion of products without cost overruns.
  • Prioritize product features and communicate the reason behind this to the stakeholders.

  EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Integrated Marketing, or Communications preferred or 2-3 years of related work experience.

 

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 + years of experience working as a product manager.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Advanced knowledge in Adobe Creative Cloud solutions.
  • Understanding of best practices with product management, new product development and the product life cycle.
  • Experience as a product owner and knowledge of API’s.
  • Experience with UI/UX design.
  • Experience with maintaining, optimizing, and marketing various e-commerce platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to create content in a variety of brand voices.
  • Occasional domestic travel 0-25%.

 

 

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in clinical, research or industrial laboratory industry.
  • Experience with NetSuite.
