This role offers the flexibility to work remotely, with travel to our Marietta, Ohio facility as needed to develop product knowledge, collaborate with internal teams, and support business needs. Additional travel may be required for customer meetings, conferences, trade shows, and other business activities.
Position Summary
The Product Manager serves as a key link between our customers, products, and commercial teams. With a focus on life science and biopharmaceutical applications and workflows, this role develops an understanding of customer needs, scientific applications, and market trends and translates those insights into effective product positioning, application-specific content, and sales support.
The Product Manager will engage with customers to understand their objectives, applications, and challenges and clearly communicate how our products and solutions can address those needs. Working closely with Marketing, Sales, Applications, and Engineering, this role will bring customer and market insights into the organization and help develop compelling product messaging and technical content that strengthens customer engagement and commercial growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the life sciences and biopharmaceutical markets, relevant customer applications and workflows, and emerging industry trends.
- Engage with customers and industry stakeholders to understand objectives, application requirements, challenges, and emerging needs.
- Translate scientific and technical product capabilities into clear, compelling customer benefits and value propositions.
- Serve as a product and application resource for Sales and Marketing, helping internal teams effectively communicate product capabilities and benefits to customers.
- Partner closely with Marketing to develop application-specific content, including white papers, technical materials, case studies, presentations, and other customer-facing resources.
- Gather and communicate customer, market, and competitive insights to support product positioning and commercial initiatives.
- Develop a strong understanding of the Company’s products, applications, and customer segments and effectively communicate that knowledge to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Participate in customer meetings, industry events, conferences, and trade shows to build market knowledge and support customer engagement.
- Support product demonstrations, presentations, and other customer-facing activities as needed.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Applications, Engineering, and other internal teams to ensure customer and market insights are effectively shared across the organization.
- Monitor developments and emerging trends within the life sciences and biopharmaceutical markets and relevant application areas.
- Support product launches and commercialization activities through the development of product messaging, training materials, sales tools, and customer-facing content.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience within life sciences research, biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals, laboratory applications, product management, product marketing, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of the life sciences or biopharmaceutical market and related research, development, or manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting life science or biopharmaceutical applications and workflows, such as cell and gene therapy, pharmaceutical manufacturing, drug discovery and development, biologics, or other related applications.
- Ability to understand scientific and technical concepts and translate them into clear, compelling product benefits and customer-focused messaging.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with scientists, researchers, customers, commercial teams, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to understand customer needs, ask effective questions, and connect product capabilities to specific applications and challenges.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with an interest in working directly with customers and commercial teams.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across Sales, Marketing, Applications, Engineering, and other functional areas.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
- Ability and willingness to travel as required for visits to the Marietta, Ohio facility, customer meetings, conferences, trade shows, and other business activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience working in a research laboratory, research institution, biotechnology company, biopharmaceutical company, or similar life sciences environment.
- Experience supporting or working with products and applications used within life science or biopharmaceutical research, development, or manufacturing environments.
- Experience developing scientific, technical, or application-specific content.
- Previous exposure to product management, product marketing, applications, sales support, or other customer-facing responsibilities.
