The Product Manager, Technical embodies a multifaceted role, serving as a transformational strategist, analyst, customer advocate, and influential leader in both business and technology realms. This dynamic individual excels in fostering professional relationships and is instrumental in leading and driving business and technical teams through the revamped Release Management, Delivery and Engineering (RMDE) practices; including but not limited to applying release management and E2E best practices and principals earlier in the lifecycle to pave the path to production, driving test and release automation, continuous improvement, gap analysis and leadership communication. This role will support Consumer, Marketing, Back Office, Compliance, Business, and IT (Information Technology). Our key partners are SQaR, Environment Planning, Site Reliability Engineering, Architecture, Change / Problem Management and Portfolio Owners and Tech Partners.

Job Responsibilities:

As a RMDE Technical Product Manager, your responsibilities typically include:

  • Project Management: Participating in multi-functional project teams to ensure successful testing, defect management, release planning and implementation, ensuring projects are delivered with quality and no risk to production.
  • Change Management: Facilitating activities to ensure smooth adoption of RMDE practices, including training, communication, and partner engagement.
  • Risk Management: Ensures identified risks, compliance issues and vulnerabilities are mitigated/remediated.
  • Documentation and Communication: Provide transparent and actionable status information to Leadership through Leadership Checkpoints, Daily Status Reporting, and coordination of executive leadership direction into Triage activities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluating RMDE practices to find opportunities for innovation, automation, and efficiency improvements.
  • Conducts analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to identify product innovation opportunities or root cause of issues.
  • Conducts cost-benefit / ROI / NPV analysis, to support decision making.
  • Works with stakeholders and follows enterprise process to secure and maintain product funding.
  • Anticipates industry trends, direction, innovation, analyses potential impacts or opportunities to customer / product.
  • Communicates, influences, and sells ideas at VP (Vice President) level and below. This includes consistently delivering product releases.
  • Drives specific ad hoc analysis and presents information to executive level management on request.

  • Collaborates with PM and Dev leaders to design, architect and assemble effective Agile delivery teams in the Agile Release Train and Agile Teams.
  • Collaborative partnership with SRE, Architecture, Observability and CI/CD teams regarding standards identification and implementation.
  • Ensures existing production defects get factored into regular backlog prioritization for resolution based on priority.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders and Dev / Execution teams to create and communicate anticipated release schedule.
  • Assists with the overall execution relating to all aspects of the software development process, from defining the strategy and architecture through deployment and support.
  • Recognizes and communicates technical challenges to stakeholders and makes educated trade-off decisions with the team.
  • Accountable for product quality and performance in production environment.
  • Accountable for product team response in event of critical or high impacting defect, including communications to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Manages development of adoption tools and training materials.
  • Identify execution, operational, organizational issues that impede product success. Drive improvement plan to change or resolve issues (within sphere of influence).
  • Relationship & People, Professional Development.
  • Collaborates and develops positive working relationships with many teams, including sales, commercial accounting, marketing, legal, go-to-market, finance, Dev, Architecture, Engineering.
  • Works closely with outside vendor partners and other third parties.
  • Develops positive working relationships with Customer groups or Customer Representatives.
  • Maintains professional knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviews professional publications; establishes personal networks; participates in professional societies.
  • Develops adoption tools and training material for Technical Product Management team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 3+ years confirmed experience in hands on technical writing production code, solution engineering, or technical architecture in large scale company/ application / product environment. (Required)
  • 5+ years of relevant Product Management experience in an agile software product development environment. (Required)
  • Product Management: Validated experience in product management, including product strategy development, roadmap planning, requirements gathering, solution design, and project management.
  • Business Insight: Understanding of business processes across various functional areas such as finance, sales, marketing, supply chain, and human resources.
  • Partner Management: Excellent customer management skills, including the ability to collaborate with business users, IT teams, vendors, and executive leadership.
  • Project Management: Solid project management skills with experience leading multi-functional project teams.
  • Change Management: Proficiency in change management principles and practices.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and analyze requirements, identify business needs, evaluate solution options, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Superb communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical partners and present ideas and recommendations effectively.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues, mitigating risks, and driving continuous improvements.
  • Documentation and Documentation: Proficiency in documenting product specifications, requirements, design decisions, and project deliverables. Ability to create clear and concise documentation for end users and technical teams.
  • Initiative Independence – ability to self-manage initiatives with little guidance.
  • Ability to adapt and deal with ambiguity.

Base Pay Range: $103,400 - $186,400

Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.


At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
