Position Summary

The Product Manager, Solutions Design is a leadership role within the Transformation Management Office responsible for shaping enterprise solutions and advancing early-stage application concepts from problem framing through MVP deployment readiness. The role blends disciplined Solutions Design practices with product development execution, helping convert strategic ambiguity into scalable, user-centered, technology-forward solutions that create measurable business value.

This individual will partner across business, operations, technology, risk, compliance, product, and data stakeholders to assess opportunities, synthesize evidence, define solution options, and shape practical recommendations. The role will also lead or support concept development, prototyping, MVP definition, delivery planning and execution, as well as adoption readiness in close partnership with product owners, business analysts, technology, and delivery teams.

The Product Manager works directly with Divisional stakeholders, Technology leaders and/or vendors to ensure product ROIs are maximized and meet business needs. In addition, the individual provides product updates and communicates effectively to oversight committees, sponsors, stakeholders, and other program/project managers and key participants.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Discovery & Problem Framing

  • Lead structured intake, discovery, and current-state assessment for assigned solution opportunities, ensuring requests are tested against strategic, operational, user, and value thresholds.
  • Develop and facilitate stakeholder interviews, journey mapping, current-state mapping, data analysis, and validation loops to establish an evidence-backed understanding of the problem to be solved.
  • Synthesize stakeholder input, operational insights, root causes, user needs, constraints, and opportunity areas into clear findings that can be understood by business, technology, and senior leadership audiences.

Solution Framing & Recommendation Development

  • Translate findings into credible solution scenarios across organization, process, data, technology, controls, and operating model dimensions.
  • Assess alternatives using impact, effort, risk, dependency, client/user experience, technology feasibility, and value realization considerations.
  • Develop executive-ready recommendation materials, decision pathways, roadmaps, and business case inputs that help stakeholders converge on a practical path forward.

Application Product Concept Through Delivery

  • Lead or support early-stage application product development activities, including concept definition, product vision, prototype shaping, scope, backlog refinement, user workflows, adoption considerations, and delivery readiness.
  • Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Technology, architecture, data, risk, and operations partners to translate solution intent into actionable product increments, requirements/story inputs, acceptance considerations, and deployment plans.
  • Ensure proposed application solutions are reusable, scalable, complementary to enterprise technology capabilities, and governed appropriately from a technical, operational, and control perspective.

Stakeholder Alignment & Design Facilitation

  • Facilitate design thinking sessions, working groups, and decision forums that help stakeholders align on user needs, problem statements, solution trade-offs, MVP scope, dependencies, and risks.
  • Influence without direct authority across multiple functions, balancing stakeholder priorities while maintaining an enterprise-first lens.
  • Communicate complex solution concepts clearly across audiences ranging from operational SMEs to technology partners and senior leaders.

Execution Enablement & Delivery Readiness

  • Bridge solution design into execution by confirming roles, governance, dependencies, risk considerations, KPIs, benefits, roadmap, and handoff requirements.
  • Partner with delivery teams to ensure approved recommendations are sufficiently scoped, validated, and mobilized for execution.
  • Participate alongside the project and development teams in execution rituals, including sprint planning, backlog refinements, sprint demos and deployments.
  • Support post deployment learning loops, benefit tracking, user feedback synthesis, and continuous improvement of solution design practices and product delivery.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in strategic solution design, transformation management, product management, business technology, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead discovery and solution framing efforts, including stakeholder interviews, journey mapping, current-state analysis, problem definition, root cause assessment, and synthesis of findings into evidence-based recommendations.
  • Experience operating in ambiguous environments and translating loosely defined opportunities into structured solution concepts, MVPs, and executable delivery plans.
  • Strong understanding of Asset Servicing and Financial Services processes, operating models, and business workflows.
  • Proven ability to evaluate business, operational, data, technology, and control considerations and develop practical solution options, roadmaps, business cases, and executive recommendations.
  • Experience shaping application product concepts, prototypes, user workflows, MVP scope, backlog inputs, requirements, and adoption readiness activities.
  • Demonstrated success leading and influencing cross-functional teams across business, operations, technology, architecture, data, risk, compliance, and product functions in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder management capabilities, including experience leading workshops, design thinking sessions, working groups, and decision forums with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and strategic storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear narratives, decision materials, trade-off analyses, and actionable next steps.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to balance innovation, user needs, risk considerations, and enterprise objectives.
  • Working knowledge of emerging technologies, including AI, automation, data transformation, low-code/no-code platforms, enterprise systems, and modern product practices.
