About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Product Manager to lead the development and lifecycle management of next-generation advanced display solutions (OLED, Micro LED) for automotive digital cockpit systems. This role is ideal for a product leader passionate about in-cabin experience innovation, with a strong blend of technical depth, business acumen, and customer focus.
This position is responsible for product management of advanced display technologies within the Ready Display Product line under HARMAN’s Intelligent Cockpit – Visual Experience (VX) group.
You will own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation through launch, defining differentiated value propositions for both customers and HARMAN. This global role will be responsible for ongoing definition and tracking of minimum and maximum viable products of the assigned advanced displays including driving product strategy, roadmaps, and requirements (why, what, when), aligned with technology evolution, market insights, and automotive trends. You will manage product P&L (business case), define business priorities, and ensure execution alignment with cross-functional teams while continuously building a strong innovation pipeline. You will adopt and implement product management best practices and find continuous growth opportunities. The position may or may not have supervisory responsibilities.
Working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, you will collaborate with delivery, engineering, supply chain, finance, manufacturing, sales, marketing, legal, and UX teams to bring products to market. You will also support pre-sales engagements, to help position and evangelize solutions with customers and partners, while maximizing platform reuse. The role will work closely with other subject matter experts within and manage external strategic partners for synergies to jointly define product concept, roadmap, features, system architecture and design while contributing to ongoing assessment of market size (TAM/SAM) and industry trends.
This position will also hold additional responsibility to implement the predefined GTM strategy by supporting pre-sales engagements by working with cross-functional teams to evangelize these products and platforms with internal as well as external customers and associated partner ecosystem.
This position reports to Sr. Director, Product Management within Strategic Business Unit - Intelligent Cockpit, Product Management Group at HARMAN.
What You Will Do
Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management
- Define and execute product strategy for advanced display platforms (OLED, Micro LED) aligned with OEM needs, user experience expectations, and market trends
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle from concept through launch and sustainment
- Define and manage MVP and MxVP with a strong focus on customer value, differentiation, and willingness to pay
- Drive platform scalability, reuse, and roadmap planning, including feature prioritization and release management in tools such as Aha!
Customer-Centric Product Definition
- Translate OEM requirements, consumer insights, and UX (user experience) expectations into clear product requirements and roadmaps
- Balance performance, UX and cost to deliver compelling value propositions
- Drive design-to-value decisions, ensuring alignment between product features and what customers are willing to pay for
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Act as the central point connecting business, finance, supply-chain, manufacturing, engineering/delivery, system architecture and UX design teams to deliver differentiated display solutions
- Provide clear product direction on cost targets, feature trade-offs, and value optimization
- Ensure alignment across teams to deliver on product goals, timelines, and customer expectations
Customer Engagement & Go-To-Market
- Engage with OEMs to shape product concepts, validate value propositions, and influence roadmaps
- Support RFQs, solution positioning, and pre-sales activities with a strong product narrative
- Drive pre-defined go-to-market strategies and internal/external product evangelization
Ecosystem & Partner Management
- Collaborate with suppliers and strategic partners to enable innovation, cost competitiveness, and scalable solutions and manage relationships
- Track emerging technologies and industry trends to inform product strategy and differentiation
Market Intelligence & Business Planning
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to refine product strategy
- Support business case development, pricing strategy, and TAM/SAM tracking
- Identify growth opportunities and continuously strengthen the product portfolio
Governance & Reporting
- Provide regular updates on product strategy, roadmap progress, and business performance to leadership
What Makes You Eligible
Education
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, Display Technology, Optics, Physics, or related field
- MBA or equivalent business experience is a plus
Experience
- 6-8+ years of experience in product management, system engineering, or hardware development related to displays
- Hands-on experience with OLED and/or Micro LED technologies is highly preferred
- Strong experience in automotive display systems, preferably within a Tier-1 or Tier-2 display panel maker environment
Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of:
- Product management principles and best practices
- Tools such as Aha! and AI tools that aid product management
- OEM requirements for advanced displays from various regions
- Display module UX designs (Rigid and flexible OLED)
