The Product Manager, Navigation & Guidance Solutions, supports the development, enhancement, implementation, and ongoing management of innovative healthcare products and solutions designed to improve affordability, quality, member experience, and healthcare outcomes. Specifically, this role will be responsible for developing and managing offerings that support digital navigation, consumer engagement, and guidance within the healthcare journey.
The Product Manager may also support other healthcare offerings across a broad portfolio of products intended to meet evolving employer and market needs, as well as improve affordability, quality, member experience, and healthcare outcomes. Some examples include provider network-based, consumer engagement, and/or financial healthcare solutions (e.g., Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)).
The Product Manager partners closely with external vendors as well as cross-functional teams including Sales, Network Management, Clinical, Operations, Finance, Actuarial, Marketing, Digital, and Technology to support product strategy, design, implementation, operational readiness, and ongoing enhancement initiatives.
This position is eligible for the Flex persona. We welcome local and out-of-state candidates under a hybrid model: those living within 50 miles of a BCBSMA office (Boston or Hingham) are required to work in office twice a week, while those living farther than 50 miles will work remotely with a requirement to visit the office quarterly. This may change based on business need.
Your day to day
- Support the development, enhancement, implementation, and management of digital healthcare products and navigation solutions.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with internal stakeholders to support product strategy and execution.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on assigned products.
- Support business case development, KPI tracking, and financial and operational analysis.
- Gather and document business requirements and support solution development for product enhancements or development of new products and services.
- Ensure alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Serve as a product expert; support Sales, broker, and account management efforts through presentations, training, and RFP responses.
- Contribute to product positioning materials and internal communications.
- Monitor product performance, market feedback, and operational considerations to identify new areas of opportunity or enhancements.
- Build strong collaborative relationships across teams.
We're Looking for:
- Strong knowledge of healthcare, health insurance products, provider networks, or healthcare delivery systems.
- Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including senior management.
- Comfortable independently problem solving and escalating as appropriate for strategic guidance.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate complex healthcare concepts clearly and effectively to all levels.
- Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn and grow within a product management environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with project management practices and tools (such as JIRA and Microsoft Project) is helpful but not required.
- Experience working with or managing vendors in the medical, health insurance products, and/or financial spaces is helpful but not required.
