Overview

Are you interested in managing the full lifecycle of mobility & roaming products and services. As a TNS Product Manager you will lead others to deliver true value based on customer-backed approaches. You will utilize your entrepreneurial prowess to drive strategy of TNS business, technology, and design. Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with carriers and vendors to ensure optimal cost and service for data, voice, SMS and numbering

  • Work with the Technology team to ensure service is maximized and projects are delivered quickly

  • Manage overall product costs which include, vendor, peering and other product expenses such that costs are minimized while ensuring product quality is maintained and further enhanced

  • Negotiate roaming hub Roaming Agreements (IRAs), manage key vendor and key partner agreements.

  • Support the development of our IPX connectivity footprint working with established and potential new peering partners to advance the enrichment of our global connectivity capability

  • Taking Account management responsibility for each partner and ensuring that the commercial benefits are realized by driving the partner-to-partner so that the commercial relationship can be launched, roaming extended (4G, VoLTE (Voice Over LTE), 5G) and maintained

  • Contribute to the finance team to ensure forecasting costs, revenue and product margin are correct and update product financials as/when required

  • Collaborate to provide/create data to measure the success of the Mobility team

  • Manage carrier, and interconnect/roaming partners and Mobility projects across the company and ensure project delivery in time and budget

  • Leader of all product lines, assuring product margin and revenue goals are met

  • Deliver business value to drive sales, improve efficiency, and improve customer satisfaction

  • Be the leader in delivering value, strategic vision and product roadmaps for your designated products and services

  • Support business reviews and present across all levels of the organization

  • Drive the product lifecycle from market development to market decline

  • Create product / business plans to determine product and service feasibility

  • Partner with functional and technical leaders to identify and plan capabilities necessary to meet short and long-term business needs

  • Develops and executes strategic plans in support of key objectives derived from the Balanced Scorecard

  • Drives business growth by applying domain expertise to provide thought leadership and translate vision into action

  • Evaluates research and market analysis, meets with third party vendors, and maintains knowledge of industry innovations and technology platforms to inform the strategy for the product

  • Knowing your customers by having ongoing discussions, both face to face and team meetings, and documenting these discussions for strategic review

  • Understands financial and business impact of proposed product updates and activities within portfolio, prioritizes updates to support the roadmap

  • Drives product development by reviewing performance and directing work efforts of solution architects, development, and operations to ensure products are aligned with product vision

  • Identifies goals, metrics, and appropriate analytics to measure the performance of the product and its individual features, and continually makes recommendations and refinements to the product based on learnings

  • Resolve issues within or across product teams that may impair teams from delivery of a quality product to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals

  • Drives operational excellence to create internal customer satisfaction and meet product metrics while prioritizing customer needs

  • Works across legal teams to develop, review customer and third-party partner contracts

Travel Requirements

  • Typically requires overnight travel 10% to 15% of the time

Preferred Experience and Education

  • BS degree in Telecom or Business, MBA Preferred

  • More than 5 years’ experience in Product Management domain

  • Strong background in Mobile, Roaming and Fixed telecom networks

  • Understanding basic telecom infrastructure and design

Key Requirements

  • Experience working for a mobile network operator and/or MVNO, or within a Wholesale (TAP, BCE/Carrier/Roaming Department)

  • Strong understanding of commercials and operational processes for 4G/5G data, voice, SMS, and numbering across various geographies

  • Strong understanding of Telecom environment - regulatory principles, numbering, GSMA industry working groups, data, voice, SMS, and vendor solutions-technologies

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Excellent communication/collaboration skills

  • Ability to develop and manage relationships at all levels

  • Experience dealing with cross functional teams (Technical, Billing, Finance, Sales, NOC (Network Operation Center) & Operations)

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Highly organized; forthright; driven; energetic

  • 5+ years in the Communications industry, or other relevant industry experience

  • For this role, we anticipate paying $135,000-$165,000 annually. Any compensation range provided for a role is an estimate determined by available market data. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location. TNS offers a competitive benefit package including medical and dental coverage, life insurance, paid holidays and vacations, and a 401K plan with company match.
