The role 

In the Technical Product Manager role for Embodiment and Data, you will own the requirements and strategy for the integration and optimisation of our end-to-end AI driving model within the broader self-driving stack (OS, middleware, sensors, compute, vehicle, etc.). You will effectively own the “embodiment” in the term “embodied AI”. Your unique combination of technical knowledge, product insight, and cooperative initiative will be crucial to setting clear direction for the hardware, software, and robotics teams. Your impact will be evident in the enhanced performance and readiness of our end-2-end self-driving tech for the market.

You will maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders such as the program, on board software, & automotive teams to ensure everyone has a comprehensive knowledge of product interface/integration requirements and priorities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Define Vehicle/Compute Platform and Data interfaces: Articulate product requirements for AI model integration with vehicle systems and interfaces.
  • Compute Platform: Select and prioritize suitable compute platforms for AI model compatibility.
  • Drive partnership and/or compatibility strategy wrt existing on-board base software stacks
  • Calibration Workflows: Map out calibration roles and processes for both pre- and post-production stages.
  • Set Embodiment KPIs: Set top level KPI targets to monitor platform and data function performance.
  • Align HMI and UX designs with OEM partnerships and user needs.
  • Streamline Vehicle Commissioning: Simplify commissioning to ensure quick, efficient vehicle setup & maintenance
  • Data filtering requirements: Triggered data collection across on-board and off board for both OEM product and Wayve internal fleet platform. Align with engineering/embedded constraints & existing OEM infrastructure.
  • Specify Event Data Recording to align with regulatory requirements
  • Enhance Team Collaboration: Promote synergy between on board software, data, and robotics teams.

About you 

In order to set you up for success as a Technical Product Manager at Wayve, we’re looking for the following skills and experience.  

Essential 

  • AI and Robotics Understanding: Good grasp of ML/AI foundations, especially in the context of mobile robotic systems and embodied AI products
  • Technical background with good systems understanding. You know what’s involved when building and deploying a working robotic system beyond a demo or proof of concept (calibration, diagnostics, testing, component interfaces, etc.)
  • Familiarity with embedded compute SoC’s from Nvidia, Qualcomm, etc.
  • Analytical abilities to establish clear, measurable objectives and prioritise effectively.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Proactive collaboration across various technical and cross-functional teams.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Maintain a product mindset that anticipates future market and customer needs, strives for common reusable artefacts, and stays ahead with innovative solutions.

Desirable 

  • Experience with autonomous or assisted driving
  • Experience with building/optimising for- and deploying to- common automotive SoCs from Nvidia, Qualcomm, Renesas, etc
  • Demonstrable experience in managing the product lifecycle for AI/ML-driven platforms, with a focus on vehicle and robotic systems.
  • Familiarity with Transformer based models and Large Language Models (LLMs) 
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively, bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • A propensity for innovation and a strategic approach to product development, bringing vision and excitement to the proposition
