Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies — from the world's largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups — use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to grow the GDP of the internet, and we won't stop until we've made it easy for any business anywhere to participate in the digital economy.
About the roleGovernments around the world are fundamentally changing how businesses report and exchange transactions. Continuous Transaction Controls (CTC) and e-invoicing mandates — now active or imminent in France, Germany, Spain, Poland, and across Latin America — require businesses to transmit structured invoice data through certified government networks in real time. For Stripe's global user base, compliant e-invoicing is rapidly becoming a prerequisite for conducting commerce, not a nice-to-have.
We're building the e-invoicing infrastructure that makes this invisible for Stripe users. That means embedding compliant invoice generation, validation, and transmission directly into Stripe Billing and Invoicing — abstracting the full complexity of regional mandates and network certification behind a seamless product experience.
This is a high-impact, greenfield role. You'll own Stripe's e-invoicing product end-to-end: setting the strategy, driving execution, and making Stripe the go-to solution for businesses navigating the global shift to real-time invoicing compliance. You'll work at the intersection of product, engineering, partnerships, and go-to-market — and you'll be laying the foundation for a capability that will matter to every Stripe user operating in a mandated market.
What you'll do- Own the e-invoicing product vision and roadmap, translating complex and evolving regulatory requirements into a coherent multi-year strategy
- Drive Stripe's expansion across mandated global markets (France, Germany, Spain, Poland) and into Latin America, sequencing coverage pragmatically against enforcement timelines
- Lead build, buy, and partner decisions — evaluating the right combination of internal investment and external capabilities to meet compliance deadlines without sacrificing long-term product quality
- Define and own the end-to-end user journey: from onboarding (including business identity verification) to live invoice transmission via certified networks like Peppol
- Work closely with the Billing, Invoicing, Tax, and Connect teams to embed e-invoicing as a native part of Stripe's financial infrastructure — not a bolted-on feature
- Establish quality, reliability, and activation metrics that hold every component of the e-invoicing stack accountable, and use those metrics to drive continuous improvement
- Partner with GTM, Sales, and Solutions Engineering to position Stripe as the leading e-invoicing solution for upmarket and enterprise customers
- Represent Stripe credibly with regulators, certification bodies, and industry partners as we build direct relationships with key tax authorities and networks
- 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in a B2B fintech, payments, tax, or compliance-adjacent product domain
- Deep familiarity with the e-invoicing landscape — you understand CTC frameworks, structured invoice formats (Factur-X, XRechnung, PEPPOL BIS), and the regulatory dynamics driving mandates in Europe and Latin America
- Strong technical fluency: you can credibly partner with engineers on API design, data schemas, and network integration architecture
- Demonstrated ability to run a build/buy/partner analysis and translate the output into concrete roadmap decisions
- Experience launching products across multiple markets simultaneously, including navigating localization, regulatory compliance, and differing user needs
- Excellent cross-functional leadership — you get things done across Engineering, Legal, Finance, and GTM without formal authority
- Clear, direct communication: you can distill a complex compliance landscape into a compelling product narrative for both internal stakeholders and external audiences
- Experience integrating third-party technology providers or acquisitions into a core product platform
- Familiarity with Stripe Billing, Invoicing, or Tax products
- Prior experience building toward Peppol access point certification or direct integrations with national tax authority platforms (e.g., Chorus Pro, KSeF)
- Exposure to B2B invoicing workflows in mid-market or enterprise contexts
E-invoicing is one of the most consequential shifts in global business compliance in a decade, and Stripe is early in building the infrastructure to make it effortless. You'll have the mandate, the resources, and the cross-functional backing to build something significant — and the chance to make Stripe synonymous with world-class e-invoicing.
Stripe is an equal opportunity employer. We look for people with exceptional abilities, who are excited by hard problems and big opportunities.
