The Role

The Role:

Joining Moderna offers the unique opportunity to be part of a pioneering team that's revolutionizing medicine through mRNA technology, with a diverse pipeline of development programs across various diseases.

As an employee, you'll be part of a continually growing organization, working alongside exceptional colleagues and strategic partners worldwide, contributing to global health initiatives.

Moderna's commitment to advancing the technological frontier of mRNA medicines ensures a challenging and rewarding career experience, with the potential to make a significant impact on patients' lives worldwide.

Moderna is solidifying its presence within our international business services hub in Warsaw, Poland, a city renowned for its rich scientific and technological heritage. This hub provides critical functions, meeting the growing demand of Moderna’s global business operations. We're inviting professionals from around the world to join our mission and contribute to the future of mRNA medicines.

Moderna is reimagining how medicines are developed — and Digital plays a pivotal role in that transformation.

We are seeking a Product Manager, Digital for Development, to accelerate AI-powered and digitally native solutions that support Moderna’s Regulatory, Clinical, Safety, and Medical Writing functions. This high-impact, hybrid role sits at the intersection of science and technology, shaping how Moderna digitizes, automates, and scales core development capabilities to bring mRNA medicines to patients faster.

As part of a cross-functional team spanning the U.S., Europe, and India, this role serves as a critical connector between business and technology. The Product Manager will help reduce development cycle times, enhance data-driven decision making, and digitize formerly manual workflows — unlocking meaningful advances in speed, quality, and scalability. You will help drive product strategy, partner with technical and functional teams, and play a key role in building Moderna’s digital ecosystem for the future of Development.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Define and execute product roadmaps that support strategic initiatives in areas such as Collaborative Authoring, Knowledge Management, and Regulatory Content Reuse.

  • Prioritize and manage the Veeva RIM roadmap, coordinating delivery to maximize business value and accelerate compliance-ready operations.

  • Translate complex requirements into clear product specifications, aligning business needs with digital and AI capabilities.

  • Build compelling business cases for automation, workflow digitization, and AI-driven initiatives that enhance operational excellence.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Collaborate closely with product owners, engineering squads, and Quality/CSV teams to ensure delivery of compliant, audit-ready solutions across GxP systems.

  • Partner with senior leadership on build vs. buy decisions and architecture alignment to advance digital maturity across Medical, Regulatory, Clinical, and Safety domains.

  • Monitor product adoption, define KPIs, and lead continuous improvement initiatives grounded in user feedback and performance data.

  • Advocate for the adoption of AI-enabled capabilities — such as intelligent document processing and workflow automation — to drive scale and digital innovation.

  • Act as a strategic liaison between Digital and Development, ensuring alignment of technology with regulatory expectations and operational requirements.

The key Moderna Mindsets you’ll need to succeed in the role:

  • We Digitize Everywhere Possible: This mindset is central to your mission — you'll be leading efforts to automate manual workflows, scale AI-powered solutions, and ensure digital readiness across Development functions.

  • We Act with Dynamic Range: This role demands strategic thinking and hands-on execution — from defining roadmap vision to tracking adoption metrics — across diverse stakeholders and technical landscapes. You’ll move between long-term planning and day-to-day delivery with equal fluency.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree required (e.g., Life Sciences, Business, Engineering, Computer Science); advanced degree is a plus.

  • 5+ years of experience in at least one Development domain (Medical, Regulatory, Clinical, Safety, or Medical Writing) or in a Digital/IT role supporting these domains.

  • Strong understanding of Veeva Vault RIM or comparable regulatory systems; hands-on experience preferred.

  • Experience delivering or supporting digital transformation initiatives — ideally in a GxP or regulated environment.

  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and Agile delivery practices.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated collaboration skills in a matrixed, cross-functional environment across geographies and time zones.

  • Naturally curious, adaptive, and action-oriented — with a bias for simplification and innovation.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Strong business domain background in additional development domains

  • Experience with Veeva RIM and ideally additional Veeva Vault modules (e.g., Clinical, QMS, PromoMats)

  • Exposure to AI/automation tools for structured authoring, metadata-driven workflows, or content management

  • Familiarity with agile frameworks and working principles

  • Background in business process improvement and/or product ownership in regulated environments

  • Experience in global organizations collaborating across US, Europe, and India

What We Do

At Moderna, we believe messenger RNA, or mRNA, is the “software of life.”

Every cell in the body uses mRNA to provide real-time instructions to make the proteins necessary to drive all aspects of biology, including in human health and disease.

Given its essential role, we believe mRNA could be used to create a new category of medicines with significant potential to improve the lives of patients.

We are pioneering a new class of medicines made of messenger RNA, or mRNA. The potential implications of using mRNA as a drug are significant and far-reaching and could meaningfully improve how medicines are discovered, developed and manufactured.
