Job Description:

Grata is part of Datasite, the platform that runs a large share of the world’s M&A processes. That combination gives us a rare position: Grata knows the private company universe, and Datasite sees how deals actually get done. Derived Intelligence is the team that turns that proprietary data into new products.

We’re looking for a Product Manager to own Derived Intelligence – the datasets, scores, and signals we build on top of raw data. The portfolio covers derived scores, behavioral signals, and market indices that tell customers which private companies are likely to transact, who is likely to buy, and where the market is heading. You will define what these products measure, work with data science to build and validate the models behind them, and package them into the Grata platform and our MCP tooling.

The core of the job is both analytical and creative: looking at proprietary data across Grata, Datasite, and the wider Datasite family, and seeing a product in it that adds value for customers they can’t get anywhere else. The role requires rigor in defining what a score or signal means, measuring accuracy, setting requirements, and iterating as usage scales.

You will work closely with data scientists, machine learning and data engineers, full stack engineers, design, product marketing, and the commercial team. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, excels in a fluid environment, and transforms ambiguity into clear solutions. The ideal candidate is also deeply customer-obsessed, ensuring that their work consistently aligns with and addresses customer needs.

If you’re passionate about building innovative products, shaping the future of Grata’s data, and driving real impact for users, we’d love to hear from you. Grata is a hybrid company, which means our employees work from our NYC office (in Columbus Circle) on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

At Grata, we will expect you to:

  • Own the Derived Intelligence roadmap: decide which derived datasets, scores, and signals to build, in what order, how we build within the MCP and in user experiences across our agentic platform, and how each one impacts customers and our business in support of our annual goals
  • Partner with data scientists on predictive and behavioral models – framing the problem, defining labels and evaluation, and judging when a model is accurate enough to put in front of customers
  • Find new product opportunities in proprietary data across Grata, Datasite, and the wider Datasite family, working through coverage, refresh, and data rights constraints
  • Define and defend metric definitions: what a score means, how it is calculated, what it claims, and what it does not
  • Build a deep understanding of dealmaker workflows, pain points, and behaviors by partnering with commercial teams and conducting user research and data analysis
  • Develop strategic roadmaps with clear milestones and measurable metrics to achieve ambitious goals and track progress effectively
  • Work across data science, machine learning, design, engineering, and product marketing to define and ship the roadmap
  • Prioritize initiatives ruthlessly using a customer-centric and data-driven approach to maximize impact and deliver customer value
  • Craft detailed requirements informed by customer conversations, usage data analysis, and iterative feedback from design and engineering teams
  • Establish yourself as the go-to expert and trusted leader for the product area, building credibility through ownership and results
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders, distilling complex ideas into clear insights that drive alignment across the organization

What we are looking for:

  • 3+ years of product management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong hands-on data fluency: comfortable in SQL, able to pull and analyze a dataset yourself to form a point of view before asking anyone else to
  • Experience shipping data products where the data itself is the product – derived metrics, scores, signals, enrichment, or analytics features
  • Experience partnering with data scientists on predictive or statistical models, including how you defined success and decided the model was ready
  • A track record of finding a valuable product inside an existing dataset, and the domain judgment to know why it would matter to the customer
  • Comfort with the mechanics of data quality: coverage, precision and recall, entity resolution, freshness, and how to build customer trust in a number that cannot be verified by eye
  • Can partner and influence effectively across all levels of an organization, and regularly use these skills to improve the work going on around you
  • Experience in a prior startup or high-ambiguity environment; a track record of managing ambiguity and complexity affecting many stakeholders in an organized and structured way
  • Interested in an office-centric culture with a flexible work environment
  • Domain knowledge and experience with the private capital markets – M&A process, PE or investment banking workflows
  • [Bonus] Prior experience as a data scientist, data analyst, or data engineer
  • [Bonus] Experience with LLM-based extraction, classification, or enrichment pipelines
