The Role
Lead design and delivery of a unified, real-time billing platform that embeds AI/ML to automate reconciliations, detect anomalies, enable predictive insights, and create autonomous finance workflows across global billing operations.
Summary Generated by Built In

WEX is an innovative payments and technology company helping our customers simplify the business of running a business in a rapidly changing environment; freeing them to spend more time, with less worry, on the things they love.  As we lean into our mission to “simplify the business of running a business”, WEX is focused on simplifying and reimagining experiences for both our customers and employees. We are looking for a Sr. Product Manager to own the execution and delivery of the Customer and Enterprise team’s billing and corporate systems product roadmap. This is not a traditional product role—it is an opportunity to architect the future of finance at WEX.

We are embarking on a multi-year transformation to build a unified, real-time billing platform that replaces legacy ERP and bespoke systems with an intelligent, adaptive ecosystem. This platform will serve as the foundation for autonomous billing —where data is continuously reconciled, insights are generated in real time, and decision-making is augmented by AI.

As a Product Manager, you will lead the vision and execution of this transformation, owning the evolution of our core billing systems. You will shape how AI and machine learning are embedded at the core of our billing architecture—unlocking predictive, prescriptive, and eventually self-optimizing workflows that redefine how our operations teams deliver globally.

About the Team

Join the Customer and Enterprise Team as we reimagine WEX from the inside out. We are building a future where customer and enterprise systems are seamlessly connected, data flows intelligently across the organization, and innovation is driven through rapid experimentation and bold thinking.

Our culture is grounded in agility, curiosity, and collaboration—where diverse perspectives fuel breakthrough ideas, and where we continuously challenge the status quo to deliver transformative value at scale.

What You’ll Do
  • Architect Intelligent Systems: Lead the transformation of WEX’s billing infrastructure into a unified, real-time platform—creating a single, trusted source of financial truth powered by continuous data synchronization and intelligent automation.

  • Embed AI at the Core: Design and deploy advanced AI/ML capabilities that move billing operations from reactive reporting to predictive and prescriptive intelligence—enabling faster closes, anomaly detection, automated reconciliations, and forward-looking insights.

  • Enable Autonomous Finance Experiences: Reimagine the experience for our global billing operations teams by delivering intuitive, real-time, and AI-augmented tools that empower users to deliver for our customers with unprecedented speed and accuracy.

  • Define the Future-State Vision: Identify and prioritize the most critical problems to solve, translating deep customer and employee insights into a bold, long-term product strategy.

  • Drive Outcome-Oriented Execution: Partner with cross-functional teams to iteratively deliver high-impact capabilities, leveraging experimentation, data, and AI-driven analytics to continuously refine the roadmap.

  • Lead Through Insight and Influence: Use qualitative and quantitative signals—including AI-powered insights—to guide decision-making, measure impact, and unlock new opportunities for innovation.

  • Shape Technical Direction: Collaborate closely with engineering and data science leaders to define scalable architectures and ensure AI is deeply integrated into the product’s foundation.

  • Inspire and Align: Communicate vision and strategy effectively to senior stakeholders, building alignment and momentum across the organization.

How You’ll Engage
  • Futurist Mindset: Anticipate where finance and technology are going, and translate emerging trends in AI, data, and automation into differentiated product strategies.

  • Customer-Obsessed Intelligence: Combine deep empathy with data and AI-driven insights to understand and solve the most meaningful problems.

  • Outcome-Driven Execution: Focus relentlessly on measurable impact—leveraging data to guide prioritization and validate success.

  • Experimentation at Scale: Champion rapid prototyping, testing, and iteration to unlock innovative solutions.

  • Collaborative Leadership: Build strong partnerships across product, engineering, data science, UX, and commercial teams—aligning diverse perspectives into a cohesive vision.

  • Continuous Learning: Stay at the forefront of AI, financial systems, and emerging technologies, bringing new ideas and approaches into the organization.

What You’ll Bring
  • 6–10 years of product management leadership experience, with deep expertise in the revenue lifecycle (e.g., ERP) and data platforms.

  • Proven experience delivering AI/ML-powered products end-to-end, including defining use cases, partnering with data science teams, and operationalizing models at scale.

  • Strong understanding of financial operations, accounting principles, and how intelligent systems can transform processes like accrual, audit and reconciliation.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple complex, cross-functional initiatives that drive enterprise-wide impact.

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and shaping clarity in fast-evolving environments.

  • A systems-thinking mindset, with the ability to design unified, scalable, and automated workflows powered by AI.

  • A deeply data-driven approach to product development, decision-making, and measurement.

  • Experience working in agile environments, with a bias toward action, iteration, and continuous improvement.
