The Product & Investing Solutions (P&IS) Crew is the engine that drives the end-to-end design and management of CommSec’s product portfolio (Equities, Margin Lending, Cash, International Trading and Derivatives). We manage, develop and implement new products, features and services to enable CommSec’s purpose to empower more Australians to grow their wealth.

As a Product Manager, you will be part of the Product Chapter and work with the P&IS Crew's Complex Products squad, which includes Margin Lending, International Trading, Exchange Trade Options and Warrants.   You will partner with the Product Owner to lead strategic initiatives, deliver on our roadmap, address issues and incidents, build a culture of continuous improvement and enable continued compliance with regulatory obligations. You will work with a diverse set of stakeholders to deliver customer focused outcomes through risk optimisation and product fulfilment. You will also be responsible for supporting product initiatives across the P&IS Crew and manage day-to-day activities of existing products and services to ensure consistency, security and reliability.  

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:  

  • Turn Strategy into Reality: Supporting the Product Owner to help bring the product strategy to life. Planning and managing initiatives across the squad and broader crew to deliver on customer and business outcomes.  

  • Product Discovery: Identifying growth opportunities and customer needs through customer research, data analysis, experimentation, and market insights.   

  • Product Delivery: Implement and lead end-to-end projects and initiatives, including support on product testing including changes and verification testing, and ensuring they are delivered in a timely and effective manner for our customers.   

  • Data driven decision making: Use product performance metrics and financial modelling to inform strategic decisions and adapt the product roadmap as necessary.  

  • Product Management: Monitor the marketplace, with attention to direct competitors, to assess industry trends and results in order to recommend new products or features to drive activation.  

  • Customer experience: Drive continuous improvement in the customer experience by performing in depth reviews of complaints and breakpoints, refining product features and benefits, and optimising the digital experience.  

  • Problem Solving: Showcase a strong human centred design mindset to address customer needs and problems by ensuring that solutions are resonating, user-focused and aligned with customers’ expectations. Identify and assess industry trends, customer needs, competitive offerings and emerging technologies.  

  • Product Governance and Risk Management: Take ownership of managing regular controls, robust product governance, identification of issues, timely escalations and swift resolution of issues with a focus on leveraging/ identifying opportunities for automation. Ensure our products meet all applicable regulatory requirements, supporting regulatory requests.  

  • Innovation: Drive curiosity to experiment and adopt AI to improve operational efficiency and the customer experience.

  • A self-starter with demonstrated experience in banking or financial services with proven experience in end-to-end product management, business analysis, risk management or project delivery, with a strong customer focus to help us maintain our position as the leading online broker in the market.  

  • Passion or keen interest to learn about investing and the share market. Background in investment products is desirable.  

  • The ability to think analytically and use data to develop insights, model financial impact and make decisions to influence senior stakeholders. 

  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement. Success in the role requires the ability to pitch, present and influence across a broad range of stakeholders. 

  • Strategic thinking with demonstrated success in leading and influencing to deliver initiatives.   

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to manage competing priorities – need to have the motivation and be comfortable with investing and providing recommendations to problems. 

  • Comfortable with navigating ambiguity and ability to work flexibly through change. 

  • Experience working in an agile environment and enjoy collaborating with others. 

  • Having an RG146 accreditation, understanding of domestic and international share trading and other investment products like margin lending or exchange traded options, will set you apart from the competition. 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a Business/ Commerce/ Finance degree preferred.

Skills Required
