Professional Experience That Can Help You Succeed in This Role
Can you believe that woolly mammoths were still alive when tax bills were first issued? Taxation has existed in various forms since civilization began. The earliest known tax records, dating back approximately 6,000 years B.C., were clay tablets found in the ancient city-state of Lagash, in modern-day Iraq. It’s amazing—but true!
Leading a digital transformation in an industry with that level of maturity requires more than technical aptitude. It takes creativity, patience, and persistence. While not required, the following experiences would help you succeed in this role. It’s okay if you don’t meet every item, as long as you are willing to dive into challenges and learn quickly:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus
  • 5–10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the software development or property assessment industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
  • Proven project management knowledge and practices to manage cross-functional efforts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Proven ability to communicate with executive-level stakeholders both internal and externally in nature
  • Proficiency in requirements gathering and documentation techniques
  • Familiarity with software development processes and tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps (ADO), Confluence, or similar platforms
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, with a passion for learning and continuous improvement
  • A strong customer-delivery mindset, demonstrated through a willingness to work closely with fellow team members
What we offer:
  • A collaborative work environment in a values driven team
  • Competitive salary and benefits, including health, dental, vision insurance
  • HSA and FSA options
  • Paid vacation and sick time
  • 401(k) plan with matching contributions
