We’re looking for a Product Management Director, Federal to lead Qualys’ federal product business. You will set the strategy, build the team, and deliver the roadmap that makes the Qualys Government Platform the trusted cyber risk platform for the U.S. government.
This is a senior leadership role with real ownership. You’ll shape how Enterprise TruRisk Management (ETM), VMDR, Policy Compliance, Total Cloud and our agentic AI capabilities reach the public sector, and you’ll be the executive product voice for Qualys with federal customers, partners, and the broader government cybersecurity community.
Location: Washington, D.C. metro area (minimum 3 days in office or at customer sites)
Travel: Up to 30% to agency customers, partners, and industry events

As Product Management Director, Federal, you will own the federal product portfolio and its business results. You will lead a team of product managers and work with executive leadership, engineering, compliance, federal sales, alliances, and marketing to grow Qualys’ federal business.
You’ll set the multi-year federal product strategy, keep federal capabilities at pace with commercial innovation, and lead the work needed to maintain and expand federal authorizations such as FedRAMP and DoD Impact Levels. You’ll also define how Qualys supports key federal mandates and programs, including CDM, CISA Binding Operational Directives, Zero Trust, and CMMC, and how agentic AI can be deployed responsibly in government environments.
You will be a trusted advisor to agency CISOs, program executives, and system integrators, and a recognized leader in the federal cybersecurity market.

- Own the multi-year vision, strategy, and roadmap for Qualys’ federal product portfolio. Align it with company strategy, mission needs, and the federal regulatory landscape.
- Define the federal strategy for ETM, TruRisk, and agentic AI, including model governance, data residency, human-in-the-loop guardrails, and alignment with federal AI policy and guidance.

- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of federal product managers. Set clear goals, raise the bar on product excellence, and develop future leaders.
- Establish federal product operations, including roadmap governance, parity tracking, requirements intake, and release planning, that work smoothly with the commercial product organization.
- Create a culture of customer obsession, mission focus, and disciplined execution.
Business and P&L Ownership
- Own federal product business results, including revenue growth, agency adoption, expansion, renewals, and win rates. Report performance and strategy to executive leadership.
- Lead federal pricing, packaging, and contract vehicle strategy (GSA Schedule, SEWP, BPAs, CDM task orders) with sales, alliances, finance, and contracts teams.
- Make investment cases for federal capabilities and authorizations, balancing the cost of compliance against market opportunity.
- Act as the executive product sponsor on strategic captures, large pursuits, and major RFP responses.
Compliance and Authorization Leadership
- Lead product strategy for maintaining and expanding federal authorizations (FedRAMP, DoD Impact Levels), working with security, compliance, and engineering leaders.
- Make authorization requirements a core input to platform architecture and release processes, so federal customers get new capabilities quickly and without compliance risk.

- Represent Qualys as a visible federal cybersecurity leader at industry events, government forums, analyst briefings, and in published content.
- Track the competitive landscape and federal market trends, and turn what you learn into clear positioning and product differentiation.
- Shape strategic partnerships with cloud providers, CDM integrators, and technology partners serving the federal market.

- Expert knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks and programs: NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53/800-171, CDM, CISA BODs, Zero Trust architecture, and CMMC.
- Strong domain expertise in vulnerability management, exposure management/CTEM, compliance, asset management, or cloud security.
- A strategic understanding of AI/ML and agentic AI, and of the governance, transparency, and risk considerations involved in deploying them in government.
- An established network across federal agencies, system integrators, and the federal cybersecurity community.
- Deep understanding of federal procurement, contract vehicles, budget cycles, and how agencies buy and deploy technology.
- Executive presence, with the ability to influence C-level stakeholders inside Qualys and across government.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; an active clearance is strongly preferred.
- Mission impact: Lead the product strategy that protects the systems and data U.S. government agencies and national security depend on.
- Leadership and ownership: Build and lead a team, own a strategic business, and work directly with executive leadership.
